Swasti Sinha on her negative debut

Swasti Sinha is making her debut in Rubi, which is an adaptation of a famous Spanish show. Swasti, who has been doing modelling and plays, is playing a grey character in the show.

Rubi believes in using shortcuts to success. About it, Swasti says, "I have never used any shortcut so far in real life. In fact I have really worked hard to reach this position. But in this show this girl believes that shortcut cannot be only negative means to get what you desire; it can be positive too. She wants to live life on her own terms and conditions. I am not at all like my character."

Swasti adds that her character is not out and out negative. "It does not turn negative. This means of getting what she wants can be negative for someone else but it proves positive for me. It is just a way interpreting things."

She says though it not a different show, it is not about rona dhona. "This show has all the emotions which common people want so that they can connect with it. It has a love angle too."

About the original Spanish show, she comments, "I have seen it and it was very well made. But to suit our culture we have made changes to the story. For example showing smooch on television is very common for them but here in India it is just impossible."

Swasti, who is originally from Delhi, has completed her graduation in commerce. She is a trained classical dancer and was doing plays. Then she joined modelling and shifted to Mumbai. She also did a small role in Pari Hoon Main.
