I think a better twist would've been Mihir living in some ashram as he was unable to deal with the idea of facing his son, Nandini and Niyati after Tulsi had apparently killed their son/s again. He was somehow just unable to comprehend how his life was back here again and just happened to wander when he ends up in an Ashram and just doesn't want to go back to home and think about his family.

At least it would've been novel and showed he had some agency in his decision to stay away. Here he again gets a free pass if you ask me and it is stupid that not one of Mihir's kids wondered where he went missing in the US and decided to hire some private investigator if not actually report him missing in the US. If his last known location was US stands to reason that you start looking for him there and then see where the investigation takes you.

The funniest irony of this is that the lie they said to Didi Bhai turned out to be true, Mihir is actually in the US.

Also those who want new man in Tulsi's life or remain single, tell this to makers. Also it’s smriti irani - a political figure how do you guys even expect a new man and all that bs here? Smriti fan and Amar too implied this once during the interview for why they don’t do for Tulsi. So they do that through Mihir's character to bring drama. Also these jokes about Karan's new siblings aren't funny. Rape jokes are never funny

But 1 thing I'd say is Mandira's return seemed so flawless. I mean when other characters returned, they seemed to have changed / took time to get into the skin of the character.

Mandira felt like she was always a part of the show without any break.
