When love returns Part 1

I dedicate this SS to my friend Shesha who wanted me to write a story taking inspiration from the TV Mini series When love returns.All the songs used in this SS are suggested by Shesha.

The college campus...

Kumud was walking.

She was overweight,so all the students always made fun of her by body shaming her.

A group of girls giggled.

"Look... the earth started walking when the fat girl walked on the surface" one of them mocked.

Another laughed.

The college beauty Roshni said:Careful! If Kumud sits on the bench, it will break.

Everyone burst into laughter.

Kumud got hurt and walked away silently.

Suddenly, someone stepped in front of her.

It was SaraswatiChandra Vyas.

His sharp gaze fell on the students.

Saras: Enough.

The laughter stopped instantly.

Saras:Are you guys not ashamed of teasing someone so cruelly?

One person: We were only joking.

Saras: Then joke about yourselves.

Kumud looked at him.

Kumud: Thank you... but why are you supporting me unlike others who never leave any chance to insult me?

Saras: If someone insults the person I care about, I won't stay silent.

A smile appeared on Kumud's face.

Saras:I consider you as my friend.

Kumud was surprised.

Saras and Kumud became friends.

Their friendship blossomed into love.But both had not confessed their love to each other.

Once Saras and Kumud were sitting together.

Saras: Can I ask you something? Why do you always keep silent even when people make fun of you?

Kumud: Because nothing can change how I look.

Saras: They are blind Kumud.They only see your body. I see your heart.

Kumud was surprised.

Saras: You are kind. You help everyone without expecting anything back. You never judge anyone. You are the strongest person I have ever met.

Kumud became emotional.

Kumud: Please don't say things just to make me feel better.

Saras smiled.

Saras:I am not simply saying anything to make you feel better.Whatever I said was true.

He stood up and extended his hand toward her.

Kumud looked at it in confusion.

Saras: Kumud... I don't care what anyone else thinks. I don't care about your size or what people call you.

He held her hand.

Saras: I love you Kumud.

Kumud was surprised.

Kumud: Saras...You are the most popular boy in college. Girls line up just to talk to you.

Then why me?

Saras: Because none of them are you.

Kumud: People will criticize you for being with a fat girl.

Saras: Let them say anything.I will be dating the most beautiful girl in this college.

Kumud smiled emotionally.

Since Saras belonged to the wealthiest business family in the city, they kept their relationship a secret.

Saras took Kumud to icecream parlour.

Kumud:I don't want icecrean Saras.

Saras:Why?You love it.

Kumud:But I want to diet and lose weight as all are making fun of me.They will find me unfit for you.

Saras:Once in a while having icecream is fine.You don't need to sacrifice your favourite food for others.You don't need to diet to prove others that you suit me physically. For me,you are perfect the way you look.And you are perfect for me in every way.

Kumud felt very happy.

Three years passed.

One evening...

The college terrace....

Saras held Kumud's hand.

Saras: One day... I will build a house where only happiness exists.

Kumud smiled.

Kumud: Really?

Saras nodded.

Saras: And you will be the queen of that house.

Weeks later...

Kumud sat inside a clinic.

The doctor smiled after reading the reports.

Doctor: Congratulations.

Kumud looked confused.

Doctor: You are pregnant.

Kumud was surprised.She became emotional

and placed her hand over her stomach.

Kumud:Our baby...the symbol of our love.

Doctor: Everything looks healthy.

She walked out of the hospital smiling through happy tears.

She bought a beautiful fountain pen in a gift box.

Holding it lovingly, she smiled.

Kumud: Saras always wanted this pen...

I will gift this pen to him and surprise him with the pregnancy news.

Kumud reached the college parking area.

She searched for Saras.

Just then she heard familiar voices from behind a wall.

It was Saras who was with his friend Danny.

Danny laughed.

Danny: Seriously, Saras...I still don't understand.

Why is a rich, handsome guy like you dating an ugly fat girl like Kumud?

Kumud froze hearing it.

Saras: Relax.She is just a summer fling.

Danny laughed loudly.

Danny: I knew it!

Saras: Once college ends...Everything ends.

Kumud felt that she was going to faint as her world had broken into pieces..

Everything shattered in one sentence.

A tear fell onto the gift box.

She quietly walked toward them.

Neither Saras nor Danny noticed her immediately.

Kumud placed the wrapped pen on a nearby bench.

Hearing her footstep Saras and Danny looked at her.

Saras was stunned to see her.

Saras: Kumud...

She looked at him tearfully.

Kumud: Happy birthday, Saras.

She pushed the gift toward him.

Kumud: I hope you like your... summer fling's gift.

Saras' face turned pale.

Saras realized she had heard everything.

Saras: Kumud... listen...

She turned around and walked away.

Saras felt upset.

The next morning...

Kumud's hostel room was empty.

Her belongings were gone.

Her phone was switched off.

No one knew where Kumud had gone.

Even Saras searched for her secretly.

But she had disappeared without a trace.

Seven Months Later....

A city hospital.

Roshni stood outside the pharmacy collecting medicines for her grandmother.

Suddenly she noticed a familiar face walking slowly through the corridor.That was Kumud.She was surprised to see Kumud.

Roshni: Kumud!

Kumud disappeared around the corner.

Roshni hurried after her.

From a distance she saw Kumud speaking to a nurse.

Kumud had worn loose clothes.

Her abdomen looked really swollen.

Roshni was shocked.

Roshni: Oh my God...From the big stomach we can understand that she has a tumor or some other terminal illness.Poor Kumud...She is not financially well-off.How will she afford treatment?

After 2 months...

Someone asked,

"Does anyone know what happened to Kumud?"

Roshni: I saw her in a hospital.Her stomach was terribly swollen... she looked very sick. She came from a poor family... I don't think she could have afforded treatment.So she must have died.

Saras who heard this was shattered.

Everyone believed that Kumud was dead.

Nobody knew the truth that the swollen belly everyone had mistaken for a fatal illness had never been a disease.It was Saras' child growing inside her.

For one moment I thought you had presented Jennifer as Kumud. However, I the pic looks like Neha Iyer in Ishqbaaz.

Saras stood by Kumud when her classmates were bullying and insulting her. Samud's love confession was emotional. Song sequences are romantic. Dad that Saras told Danny that Kumud is a Summer fling when Danny asked about his date with Kumud. Kumud's pregnancy was shocking. Nice to see her spirits of getting a gift for Saras in his birthday. Sad that Saras told her a Summer fling to Danny. It was good that Kumud heard the conversation, blasting Saras and walking out of the relationship.

Roshni is under the impression that Kumud has terminal illness and that's the reason behind her swollen stomach. Hope no one gets to know about her pregnancy.

Saras' character seems to be confusing as whether he really loved Kumud or didn't have guts to tell Danny that he loves her. He is shattered to hear Kumud's death. Hope he musters his courage and finds her.

Surprised to see Neha as Kumud and Nia in the FF. Roshni teasing Kumud is very sad. Good to see Saras taking stand for Kumud. Saras's dialogues to make Kumud feel better was really nice. Proposing scene and Kumud accepting it was amazing. Icecream scene was nice. Surprising that Kumud has become pregnant with Saras's baby. Kumud buying Saras's favorite pen was nice. Saras telling Danny that Kumud is his summer fling, is pathetic. Sad for Kumud. Kumud wishing birthday for Saras and leaving him, was emotional. Now, everyone feels Kumud is dead. Wonder if Saras is regretting his actions. Nice pics.
