Caught up with today's episode.

Jeet slipped on seeing her (literally phisal gaya!)

I thought Anup was also (marginally) better in his words with Jeet- apart from the najayaz low blow (irony that he calls Saxena "sahab" but Jeet najayaz, when the mistake is all Sanjeev's)

Soumya's emotional co-dependence on Jeet increases "you have to be in front of my eyes always" - now the makers have a ready reason for her to stare and search for him in every episode smiley4

Epi 8 and 9

Somu ne bola hospital jao jeet sir aapko treatment ki jarurat hai dard chhupane se thik nahi hoga

Next scene me jeet Anoop ke hospital pahunch gayasmiley36 and he's so pookie kaise baitha tha chhote bachho ke bich 🤭

Krish ke dialogues perfect hote hai

JeeNoop are like 2 bulldozers aamne samne aa gaye to tabahi pakki 😅

Then clg fisco🤦‍♀ Shaurya was so cheap his dialogues about saumya's character were disgusting just like his character smiley11

Poor Somu's emotional breakdown 😞

First Jeet offer his hand to help somu but she was too scared, Then this viral scene which is indeed a very gentle move taken by Jeet 👍

But why somu stopped Jeet smiley44shaurya really deserves atleast 1 punch from Jeet smiley7

Somu is right Jeet ko use gf nahi sis bulana chahiye tha phir faltu me Dr se thappad bhi nahi padta 😂

But manna padega anger management skills achhe hai Jeet ke 👍

Satke hue Dr se thappad khakar gussa to bohot aaya tha use ( if gusse se tilmila uthana had a face)😁 par somu ka puppy face dekhkar calm down kar diya khud ko

Then Mathurs ka izzat jaap

Ladki apne ghar ki izzat apne kandho par uthakar chalti hai and blah.. blah

Uspar Jeet ka epic reply - ladki hai ya coolie 😂 jo khacharo ki tarah izzat ka bojh sambhalti phiregi, isi dar ke sath ki pata nahi izzat ab giregi ya tab giregi

Phir Saxena house me Rajsabha bulai jati hai Jeet ko mohalle se tadipar karne ki tabadtob yojnaye banane ke liye 😅

Jeet is absolutely right is show ke uncles ki retirement age increase kar deni chaiye taki jeet ke mamlo me tang na adaye ye gawar log

Totally agree. ITV used to get it right at times- but those times are long gone. When a family would stand together for a wronged woman going against their very son who was the apple of their eyes (à la Balika Vadhu). ITV is done and dusted with trying to show any Meaningful social issue.

Usually it takes time to screw up your main leads. There is no TRP pressure either. Today apart from the light of the situation they made of Samya's trauma- I hate how they made Jeet eavesdrop on the woman - the guy who is so respectful about entering a room coz it has woman in it, so casually and happily overheard ki kya chal raha hai? I hate that.

And Saumya just having this constant tunnel vision of Papa ki Khushi is getting on my nerves.

Another thing is- the original Jeet would never take crap lying down. He would own the fact that he's a najayaz. Why has he gone soft and taking all the crap from Anoop!? What has Anoop done to deserve that respect? Every chance he gets, he comes and spews venom in jeets direction. The OG 20 episode Jeet would have retorted Kaunse ghar ki pooja ki baat kar rahe ho Uncleji? Aap toh mere ghar mein reh rahe ho woh bhi rent free.

Alright, gear up for a long response because I really got carried away.

Long gone is an understatement. It's been literal decades. There were shows where relationships existed. Drama wasn't a requirement for them to exist. Now, they just want to get to the new track as soon as possible. Leads ki development jaaye bhaad mein.

With regard to Jeet and Saumya's characters. I do agree. It feels OOC or regression of good characters. But maybe try to look at these actions from a different lens.

Your point about Jeet eavesdropping does seem like a regression. But he wasn't inside the room when it happened. He was outside, looking in, like he's always done with the Mathurs. And we put Jeet to a pretty high standard when we need to realize he's pretty gray to begin with. He's a genuinely good man, but he has faults. And the eavesdropping isn't anything new. He's done it before. It just seems jarring right now because the camera really focused on him this time rather than keeping it in a wide shot. But he's always eavesdropped on the whole Mathur family drama when they lived downstairs and he was renting upstairs. That eavesdropping wouldn't suddenly cease because the Mathurs moved upstairs. In fact, it makes sense for it to remain or even increase unintentionally.

And yes, I know Saumya's Papa jaap is frustrating. I find it frustrating too (and have said so multiple times), but I just want to extend her some grace. I feel like we need to look at it in terms of what she's feeling that brings on the Papa jaap. As I've mentioned before, Anoop's actions just constantly make Saumya feel like she's done something wrong and that's why she keeps thinking of making her father happy. She's just acting the way a daughter who loves her father would if her father would suddenly stop meeting her eyes after knowing of a horrible thing he couldn't protect her from, a thing that, for a victim, might seem shameful because of what their perpetrator kept telling them.

And lastly, Jeet's lack of response to najayaz isn't really OOC when you realize his tough exterior is a facade. He likes to show people he's enough for himself, but because the Mathurs and him are literally living on the same floor now, sharing every room, he has an inkling of what it feels like to have a full family. To his inner child, who has only known his mother and nani as family, who has no one now and is all alone in the world, that many people and the close proximity are bound to feel familial. He even called Saumya's mother, "Ma" accidentally because the whole environment to him during that scene felt like he had a family. That's precisely why he's softened so much around Anoop despite Anoop's words toward him because he's seen Anoop love and be protective of his daughter (regardless of how misdirected his love is).

Anoop loving his daughter imperfectly is still a more paternal presence than Jeet has ever had in his life. He isn't naive, but he's also deprived of a family, and for his inner child this is an oasis, despite how grave the surrounding desert might be.

So when Anoop insults him or gets mad at him now, Jeet acquiesces because to him, that's the closest a father figure has ever cared enough to even talk to him, however malicious it might be. Think about how Jeet keeps provoking Sanjeev ever since the start of the show. That's a child wanting attention from a father, be it anger if not love. He just wants his father to acknowledge him. Sanjeev barely does it when Jeet provokes him, but Anoop does it without any provocation from Jeet. For Jeet, that's new, and simultaneously, the very thing he yearns for.

Now, none of these, or all of these, might have been the show's intentions, but that's how it comes across to me when you take these characters' psyche into account.

Haha appreciate the super patient response. I think I had an out of body experience.

I went on a full on ranting session/ I think I spammed this forum with toooo much negativity. All characters had lost it my eyes. I personally didn't like yesterdays episode and that was ok but the way I reacted was just 🤣🤣🥲

I really appreciate how you calmly wrote down this response and tried to make me see the other side.

I think I was anyway over my initial anger. I still like Jeet and Saumya. Not sure about other characters lol so this show is still the only one I'm watching on ITV.

I'm happy with today's epi. Even though it was a super filler one with nothing substantial happening esp vis-à-vis Jeeya, I'm just glad they gave Jeet his self respect back and he felt like the real Jeet who wouldn't let people walk all over him. I always like the funda that he displayed in jail as well- the one who banished me will set me free that is Anup and that happened today as well. All the laddoos to the writers for that.

Krishna leela did its thing by making him come down and participate by hook or crook lol.

They have given Saumya a full open reason to keep seeking out Jeet in a crowd. So more of the looking for each other bit. Not that I mind.

All in all decent but filler.

Pardon my rant here yday guys! 🤣🤣🥲

Also appreciated how Jeet himself called out the fact ki Jab Mann karta hai Gunda bana date hain, jab Mann kare Engineer. As long as they are aware that the Gunda Mawali gets tiresome at points, I'm ok! Waiting for tomorrows dhamaal 🤣
