Fernando produced a superb delivery to remove Jaiswal, getting a length ball to swerve in and take the inside edge as the Indian opener played around it.

It was a well-earned wicket for Sri Lanka, but what followed drew far more attention than the dismissal itself.

As Jaiswal began his walk back to the pavilion, Sri Lanka's players gave him a send-off, one that seemed to carry a bit of an edge, possibly payback for some earlier banter he'd shared with Niroshan Dickwella in the previous match.

Fernando celebrated his breakthrough passionately, and that's when things escalated. The two players came face-to-face, exchanging words in a moment that quickly turned tense. Jaiswal, who'd already started walking off, turned back around after Fernando appeared to chirp something in his direction.

Their heads then made contact, with Jaiswal still wearing his helmet, in what looked like a shove rather than an outright headbutt. Sri Lanka captain Dhananjaya de Silva stepped in swiftly to pull the two apart and defuse the situation before it could escalate any further.
