This is what I mean when I say people don't understand that India is not US or a dictatorship with BJP in power everywhere

We have AAP government in Punjab and congress on Kerala

Both have attacked protestors and filed complaint

It could have been an opportunity to show how they are different from BJP but all are the same

And people here, virtue signal not understanding basic structure of Indian politics and doing BJP BJP

This protest was just youth asking for fair exams but BJP goons tried to hijack it who beat student in civil dress n chanted slogans inciting communal hatred.

Now these goons r escalating tensions n r going to attack CJP.

As a doctor I would say at least someone is speaking up against this. My cousin had given neet ug this time and was finally relieved after a year of preparation. But the exam paper leak and re neet caused stress among him and other neet aspirants. He had already gotten seat for engineering but since it was his dream to be a doctor he wanted to go for neet. There was a case of a student suicide at his coaching centre and that did create an emotional trauma for the students. He had given up mentally and even thought of going for engineering instead of writing neet again.this is a boy who lost his mom few years ago and his dad is battling different diseases. The only ray of hope in their life was this. I still remember how devasted he was when he heard abt the paper leak. Thankfully he got a good rank. But that’s not even the point. Cos what they go through all this waiting is unimaginable. I know people who lost hope. Maybe some of the them took their lives cos they couldn’t handle all this. I know there are people supporting and against this but I would say it was much needed talk. Not just for what happened now but what’s been happening since past few years. The neet pg kept postponing I was working at a medical college and I remember because neet pg was postponed there were only two batches of postgraduates instead of 3 (since its 3 years). Since one batch didn’t join because neet pg was delayed the other two batch doctors have to work overtime. Thing is when you are in third year and when your exams are near they tend to release you off extra duties so you can spend time studying. When one batch doesn’t join it creates extra burden for the existing pgs. They end up doing extra work while studying. Forget talking abt it no one seems to mind when these exams are postponed without valid reasons. Students get their exam centre they book tickets and accommodation and everything is gone because someone decided they don’t want to conduct exam today. Have you heard abroad anywhere people have to go back because medical exams didn’t happen. I know colleagues who have gone to uk or us after med school and the good thing is if they have booked a date for exam it happens on that exact date.we even know when the exams happen every year. There’s no confusion. But in India we are guessing. This is something that decides the future for someone. It’s no fun just to sit and study. Many people even postpone their weddings thinking abt such exams and they don’t want any distractions. So many things are at stake for someone dreaming for a bright future. People talk abt negligence and what doctors do wrong. No one ever speaks abt the things that happens to doctors before they reach such stage. I have friends and family who have gone abroad after MBBS and they talk it’s so much better than in India to do residency with all the toxicity. I am not looking down upon our country but the amount of young generation who don’t want to practice in India is high. Our future consists of young generation we need them to build our country up. The older generation will be here for maybe another decade. It’s high time we listen to their worries. Just because it happened in the past doesn’t mean it’s right.there should be some change in the future. All this people who are siting at powerful positions will send their kids abroad for education or they don’t care if buy a degree. There are people who are working hard day and night so their families can come out of poverty and they are the only hope for a good future.

P.s I didn’t realise the post was too long. Sorry abt that. Please don’t come at me staying x party this or y party did that. I don’t care abt any party. I don’t want such things to happen again cos I have seen the impact it has on people. It’s no joke preparing for such exams you see the ranks but one wrong answer can decide where you will get your medical seat some times it’s between whether you will be able to afford a free seat or quit that dream.

Although I agree that exams must be transparent & neet mafia must be crushed once & for all ..we need educational & judicial reforms in our country badly ..

Still, I feel what youre talking about is a broad spectrum of problems and neet alone is not the root cause here ..

My child is also doing mbbs hence I can relate..pl read on..

First ,a lot of Parents pressure their children into doing medical , which leads to students being sensitive & fearful of disappointing their parents n it ends up in suicides ..first the mental health problem of children & parents must be addressed .. for parents its very important bec they gamble everything for neet ..neet is not the end of the world , its normal for students to take 2-3 attempts n they can still drop out and do something else if they like..

Reason I bring it up , just 3 days back , a 4th yr mbbs student committed suicide from hospital building ..it wasnt in the news but in the local news , he was a very bright son of doctor parents..he ranked 2nd in his city in neet ..acc to his mother he wanted to drop out of medical but its still not sure what made him take such an extreme step.

Secondly the coaching center mafia menace must be controlled , somehow , by the govt ..they are money making machine &in paper leak they profit the most n if im guessing it right, they r big big part of this whole scam ..

Third is the reservations due to which millions of deserving students suffer , in admissions, in promotions , in jobs ...who is gonna change this rotten system ?

Fourth the govt must make all efforts to create more infrastructure in terms of hospitals , medical colleges & engineering colleges ..there must be a quota for deserving students who cant afford the fees ..there must be a quota for coaching centers too , they must teach at least 20% students for free , those who really want to pursue engineering or medical ..or ias..
