18:15 Local Time, 12:45 GMT, 18:15 IST: Hello and welcome to the live coverage of Match 66 of IPL 2026. Chennai Super Kings are in a very tough position right now and are fighting to stay in the tournament. After losing their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, they find themselves sitting sixth on the points table. They must win this final league match tonight to have any chance of making the playoffs, and even then, they will have to hope that other match results go their way. If they lose, it will be the third year in a row that this highly successful team fails to reach the top four. To make things harder, reports suggest that MS Dhoni has not traveled with the team for this crucial away match, leaving captain Ruturaj Gaikwad with a massive challenge against a disciplined bowling attack.

Pitch report by Graeme Swann and Aaron Finch: "Out in the middle of this magnificent stadium. First of all, I can tell you it's a red soil pitch. Whether that means anything to you or not, we'll soon find out. Boundary-wise, 62 metres to my right. 70 meters to my left. Much bigger hit on that side. Down to the ground, 72 meters. Right, let's find out what the red soil means with our very own Aaron Finch. G'day, Swanny. Great to be here. Like you said, magnificent stadium. And the first thing I noticed when I came and had a look at this wicket is that there is a beautiful covering of grass on it and the thing that I love about this is that it's rolled into the surface. So what that means to me is that this is going to be a beautiful wicket for batting. Having the green grass just showing through slightly to me means that it'll hold enough pace in it. Batters will be able to play their shots. They'll be able to use their pace. Also, take it down to the ground. Unlucky for you, though. I don't see there being any spin on this track tonight. No, I was thinking that my spidey senses are not standing up. There doesn't look to be any spin. It's very hard. I think it'll go through quite nicely for the quicks. It'll carry through quite nicely. So I'm expecting to see runs. Yeah, absolutely. And one thing that the captains will have to take into account is the discrepancy in boundaries. 62, so keep the ball away from that side. Use that bigger boundary and the bigger pockets. And maybe if you win the toss, you bat second and you chase down a total later on."

On the other side, the ground feels much more solid for the Gujarat Titans. Shubman Gill’s team has already qualified for the playoffs and is currently sitting comfortably near the top of the table. However, they still have plenty to play for tonight, as a victory will help them secure a spot in the top two, giving them two chances to reach the grand final. GT has shown incredible consistency this season, led by the heavy run-scoring of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, alongside a highly effective bowling unit that has picked up more Powerplay wickets than any other team. Playing at their home ground where their fast bowlers enjoy the conditions, the Titans hold a slight historical edge over CSK and will look to finish their league stage on a high note. Stay tuned for toss and team updates.
