I don’t know. I don’t think it would’ve been better if it was set in another era or if it was a historical show too. It’s always disturbing to watch pedophilia or any other evils even if they existed and exist now. I watched Jodha Akbar for the acting, great writing, chemistry and bgm, but that show had some disturbing things which I didn’t like/hated and just ignored. I just focused on the great acting, chemistry, etc, and it was easier as most of the show focused on those aspects too. So it was easier to ignore the few bad parts. the difference between original and seher is that they romaniticized the couple in seher, in the original version they didn’t though that was way more dark than seher. the original had some really bold scenes that indian audience wont take it well, one thing richa did good is that she didnt keep those scenes.
this seher show could have been a possible gem if they had better writers. firstly if u wanna show underage marriage, dont show romance! if u wanna focus on romance, at least show the character of legal age, like dude its 2026 not 18th or 19th century! this drama would have been better if it was in historical era! i have a fetish for period dramas for last 2-3 years thats why i m saying this
like even the aesthetics though beautiful would have been more suited for 1920-1940 period. tbh i really love seher-mahid’s chemistry which is why i watch this show but the storyline doesnt do justice, its just not right in this era. if they had no chemistry that would have been better for the story of that show lol.
i loved seher character cause she always takes a stand for herself but nowadays she is behaving like a nibbi!
