Rajasthan Royals have won two games in a row to kickstart their IPL 2026 campaign - a thumping victory against Chennai Super Kings followed by a come-from-behind nervy defence against Gujarat Titans.

At this point they are ecstatic. Riyan Parag spoke about the merits of 'smart cricket' and 'assessing conditions' in Guwahati. Tushar Deshpande gestured that the turf belonged to him in Ahmedabad.

Siddhartha Lahiri has been around the Royals set-up for seven years. He has seen these early season successes wither away in the Indian summer every single time. No team has kickstarted the IPL season with two successive wins like the Royals, and yet by the end of it, ended up without a trophy every single time.

"It's a long season, we can't get excited." Lahiri, the performance coach of the Royals, cautioned a day ahead of their second home game of the season. "We are not at all over-excited with our first two games... When we win, it all looks smart. When you lose, it looks unsmart."

Even as Royals have displayed both the ability to be dominant as well as keep calm under pressure, they would be well aware that they are far from being flawless.

And to test that vulnerability, they will be up against Mumbai Indians - a team that promises to field the strong XII this season.

The team defending the total has only won one of the last five matches played at the ACA Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Thus, to give themselves a better chance of winning on Tuesday, the team that wins the toss must opt to bowl first. Any total in excess of 200 can be considered a defendable total, though. The spinners are likely to assert dominance at the wicket here, which can offer turn and extra bounce.

RR vs MI Probable Best Performance of the Match

Probable Best Batter: Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma. (Source:IPL )The class of Rohit Sharma hasn't faded away as the IPL has entered its nineteenth edition. He has looked in great shape in both the games so far. His best, however, was on display against the Ajinkya Rahane-led KKR side, where the 38-year-old smashed the three-time winners to all corners of the Wankhede Stadium, amassing a septuagenerian score. The in-form Rohit could prove dangerous against RR in Guwahati.

Probable Best Bowler: Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer. (Source:IPL )Jofra Archer will be playing against his old franchise when the two teams collide on Tuesday. The ace bowler from England has unique ability to swing the ball and extract movement out of it while delivering it at an extreme pace, which often keeps the batters intimidated. He has been in fine rhythm in the past couple of outings, and is expected to carry the form to produce a match-winning spell in the upcoming contest.

After a bit of dampener yesterday where the game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings was abandoned, we move to Guwahati for match 13. There is a bit of rain predicted here as well but let's hope it stays away. Two sides coming in with very different starts; Rajasthan Royals have begun with back-to-back wins and look settled early, while Mumbai Indians have had a mixed start - a win followed by a defeat. Momentum is already building for some teams, and tonight presents a good check-point for both.

A clash of firepower and form - Match 13 of IPL 2026 brings an exciting face-off as Rajasthan Royals take on Mumbai Indians at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. Two sides packed with match-winners, but arriving with contrasting momentum - RR riding high on back-to-back wins, while MI have shown flashes of brilliance but are still searching for consistency.

With explosive batting line-ups, quality bowling attacks, and a history of closely fought encounters, this promises to be a high-octane contest where small moments could make all the difference.

Royals riding the momentum - Rajasthan Royals arrive in Guwahati with confidence and clarity, having stitched together two wins in contrasting fashion. Their campaign has been defined by strong starts and calm finishes, from a dominant display against CSK to a nervy, well-executed defence against GT. The leadership of Riyan Parag has stood out, showing maturity beyond his years, while his all-round value continues to be central to RR's balance. Add to that the experience and impact of Ravindra Jadeja, and this is a side that knows how to control key moments in a game.

RR's opening blitz - The explosive duo of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal has been a revelation, providing flying starts in both games in the Powerplay - 74 in the first and 69 in the second. Vaibhav, in particular, lit up the tournament with a stunning 17-ball 52 against CSK and is striking at a staggering 237.1 so far. Jaiswal followed it up with a classy half-century in the next outing, ensuring RR continue to dominate the Powerplay phase. These starts have laid the perfect platform for the middle order to build on.

Middle order yet to fully click - Despite the strong starts, RR still have another gear to unlock. Dhruv Jurel has already shown his range with a career-best IPL knock, but the likes of Shimron Hetmyer and Parag himself are yet to truly fire with the bat. With Donovan Ferreira and Jadeja adding muscle down the order, RR possess serious finishing power and if this unit clicks collectively, they could become one of the most dangerous batting line-ups in the tournament.

Bowling that delivers under pressure - While Archer and Deshpande grabbed headlines for their ice-cold execution at the death against GT, defending 14 runs in the last two overs, the real game-changer was Ravi Bishnoi, whose 4/41 turned the match on its head. Nandre Burger has quietly been their most consistent pacer, while Sandeep Sharma will be keen to step up and add more control with the new ball. This attack has variety, and more importantly, the ability to deliver in crunch moments.

Rajasthan Royals have looked well-balanced so far. They outplayed Chennai Super Kings in their opener and followed it up with a tight win over Gujarat Titans. The top order, led by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal, has provided strong starts, while Dhruv Jurel has taken to the number 3 spot with ease. In the bowling, they have variety - pace through Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger, and spin options like Ravi Bishnoi and Ravindra Jadeja, who have delivered in the middle overs. One area to watch though is whether they can consistently convert good positions into dominant finishes with the bat.
