Live in is not a concept that works in India. Couples who have such relationships are still looked down upon by society at large. You won’t find anyone in a normal middle class family who will be game for this easily. This is mostly done by the rich.

The issue here isn’t just the live in but the people involved in them. Mihir is no 20 something guy who can claim a break up happened and he dumped his girlfriend. Now it’s all water under the bridge.

He is shown as the current patriarch of the family though he has 2 uncles older than him alive as we speak but he’s the one seen as the patriarch. He was the one who apparently had an affair with her, a second woman in his life and cheated on his wife. This time around the wife left and they’re even legally divorced now. The woman who was his live in partner has been flaunted by him to the world as such but beyond the family no one knows she trapped him or that they never shared a bedroom.

In India, most families get their prospective in-laws vetted. As in they ask around about them from common acquaintances, friends, relatives or neighbours or anyone they can find. Some even hire private investigators especially when they’re looking to give their daughters into the family. They want to know if the family is good, if there are any secrets or scandals in the closet that they must be aware of before agreeing to the marriage. The whole family is investigated not just the prospective groom or bride, because it’s not just one person who marries another but two families coming together. They want to protect their child and also avoid any kind of relationship with people who they should be weary of.

Mihir has already brought enough shame to the family by having an illegitimate child but Tulsi accepted Karan.

Here if Mihir is found to be cheating repeatedly and worse dumping women like this, especially when it comes across as if he dumped her when he found out she had cancer and not the fact that she fooled him, the impression is that this family’s men have no moral compass and they treat women like this. No decent family will want to marry their daughters to any grandchild of Mihir’s or even the grandchildren of his cousins like Hemant. Dev got married because Saloni is the daughter of an old acquaintance of the family who didn’t do their due diligence and who later was emotionally manipulated into marrying Dev by his drama.

Nakul, Parth, Samaira and Ansh’s son as well as Dev’s forgotten sister Diya are either old enough to get married or will be in a couple of years. They will face the brunt of this whole situation.

Garima, Timsi, Akshay and Madhavi are too young and by the time they grow up the scandal will have become a memory, it won’t be as impactful, if it is. But the older generation of Mihir’s grandchildren will suffer.

Here if Noina dies after marriage, Mihir cannot be blamed if the cancer is real. However if she dies and it’s assumed that she was dumped as a dying woman after being used for 6 years by Mihir, it will be a scandal.

Yes I know in India and most or all Asian countries living together before marriage isn’t really accepted, but that’s what I mean that how was there no badnami when Mihir and Noina were living together without marriage for years? Also, it seems not everyone or most knew they were living together because that doctor friend didn’t even know TuHir weren’t together anymore. Sonali’s family also didn’t know. So it seems the relatives and family friends didn’t know. Their living in together was seems to have been known only to work related people because they were meeting them that way. That’s why Tulsi is worrying for no reason when most closed by people didn’t know and even if they did, it’s not right to tell someone to marry their abuser just because of what will people think. I find myself resonating with this opinion https://x.com/gagori_uin/status/2038681972743233846

They have given him glasses there to make him look older because he’s playing father to adult children. Here he has an adult child too, but I guess he still has to look younger than TuHir so no glasses smiley36

This show was good the first 2 seasons. Even the third season was decent. I miss such shows. Now it’s all dark, gory, and teen shows on Netflix. Plus most shows have dark color backgrounds :/

Expensive no doubt but allegations were not true and still loved by millions there. His acting skills are so good since Badtameez dil.
