He knew about Hamza from before Yalina’s call for sure. The real ambiguous part is since when and how, not this.

We are aware that he’s supposed to be the coordinator, he has to know about every single spy in the area assigned to him at least, which in his case happens to be Karachi at the very least. Not sure if such operations can use only one coordinator for a whole state, Sindh in this case, as that would be too risky. If the coordinator himself/herself is caught, the apparatus developed for a whole state falls apart especially if they crack or worse have physical records in some way or another regarding the assets in their care.

Remember, we see how Jaskirat is given a small slip with Aalam’s slogan to identify who his handler will be in Lyari. He recognises him only as Aalam is yelling that line loudly at the beginning of the first movie. After he meets Hamza, we never see Aalam repeat those words again at all. So Aalam himself knew a new agent was coming and he would be his mentee/trainee while Aalam had to act as his handler. Aalam recognised who it was when we see Hamza going to pay for his soda at the end and he asks for a job; therein he slips he’s from Hindukush. That’s his code from - I am from India. Remember when he’s talking to Uzair and Rehman in the hospital later on he says he’s from Kharrotabad in Quetta (apologies if the spelling is wrong).

We know Aalam had to have received his directive from someone, somehow regarding how he should expect a fellow agent joining him and what his own code would be - Hindukush - as stated above. Sanyal got Bansal to arrange the code words probably or maybe someone who is a junior member in their team - we don’t know. The point is these two had no idea what the other person is supposed to look like, their name even. Hamza had to find the shop and Aalam was yelling at the top of his lungs as he was aware that he is expecting a new person on that day but even he couldn’t be certain of the precise timing of his arrival.

We know Hamza works at the juice shop for a year before he’s even introduced to Rehman. Aalam also tells him to be patient as things can happen only when they get a chance and it must seem organic. We know that Jamali later lands at the hospital after Rehman’s son is dead and when he’s leaving both he and Hamza make that eye contact which is now all over SM.

It’s here that things get ambiguous, we have no clue if Jamali knew about Hamza at this point or not as a spy. He certainly picked up that this was a new face in Rehman’s usual circle as we can assume that he knew all the men Rehman deemed worthy enough to keep close to himself by face even if not names since they interacted as often as needed. So we don’t know if at this point if that was simply a look of curiosity or was it a look of recognition since Jamali probably even noticed Aalam in the hospital but chose not to react to a mere juice seller.

We can assume that Aalam has to send his own handler or Jamali himself messages from time to time especially when certain important developments happen. It’s quite likely that Aalam had to confirm that he has made contact with the new spy supposed to be in his charge and taken him in. Now when or if he did that, what details he included if such a report was made is where we are clueless regarding the workings of espionage networks since these sorta things are not bound to be made public knowledge.

We can be sure that Aalam himself had another handler at the top or somehow he knew Jamali was his coordinator because I don’t think Aalam would have had the means to send Sanyal the message regarding those currency note plates being with the ISI. If Aalam was able to somehow arrange a meeting with Jamali it’s possible they talked about who got the info before Jamali ultimately passed it along to Bansal in India via his own methods.

But Jamali most definitely knew who his SIL was before. That’s where things get interesting. At no point in a rewatch of D1 can we pick up that Jamali himself was a spy, not even until the climax of D2; so we can’t say when he knew about Hamza. But given that Yalina was practically living in with Hamza in his little house and Jamali never even thought of getting him killed tells us a lot. He’s an MNA at that point and could have simply asked Rehman to kill Hamza if needed but he wants his daughter back and it’s not like Rehman would’ve cared if he was asked to kill one of his henchmen for a favour from Jamali in the future or even cash. But Jamali never tries to get Hamza harmed which seemed strange even back then. But in hindsight, we can assume that he never had any intentions of hurting Hamza even if as a father he was angry and outraged as he was also thinking like an agent. He certainly couldn’t compromise his mission blinded by his feelings of anger, humiliation or outrage. He understood that Hamza was now a very important figure in the larger picture as he had infiltrated Rehman’s gang and what he did by blackmailing Jamali had in fact secured his loyalty and position in Rehman’s gang better than anything else could and would’ve ever done.

So Jamali knew his daughter was marrying a fellow spy. We simply cant know since when and how did he know that Hamza was a spy.

The very fact that Jamali thinks of calling Sanyal when his daughter begs him to rescue her husband tells us that he knew for a long time for sure that Hamza was a spy just like him regardless of when he found out. Because remember, Yalina assumes her dad can get the PM aka Sharif to intervene and save her husband from the ISI as he’s a MNA from Sharif’s party which is supposed to be in power during the course of these events. But Jamali knows better than that - he knows the PM himself is a puppet of the ISI and his SIL and fellow agent would be as good as dead if he pursued that line of action so he goes directly to Sanyal and asks him to exercise urgency as ultimately this was his SIL too not just a fellow patriot or spy.

Sanyal then tells him that he must take approval from the Home Minister regarding the same. So, that phone call is made after the clearance to blackmail the ISI chief is provided by the HM. Sanyal briefed him who this spy was and why he was so important. You don’t just use such a loaded ammo for anyone when it could be handy otherwise. So the permission to use that clip was also given after discussion to get the upper hand.

Now, Jamali would have known Sanyal would get the job done but remember that we see him arriving in that car at Margalla Hills later to pick up Jaskirat. Sanyal definitely called Jamali to inform him that HM had given his permission and they discussed the location where Jaskirat would be dropped off considering that the private jet had to land there and they both knew that he was tortured and would need immediate medical assistance. We even see a doctor in the jet when Jaskirat is being taken in it waiting to start whatever first aid and emergency medical assistance he can provide until they get to a proper medical facility in a hospital.

They knew he was injured but not the extent of his injuries. They decided on the pickup and drop points which had to have been close enough for the blood loss to not hamper any chances of recovery and healing in case the damage was severe. So Margalla Hills is close to this place for sure.

Now, here again Jamali had no reason to come and see his SIL off himself personally. He could have had it arranged via some other person but it was important for us to know as well as Jaskirat who his coordinator was.

Just thought of this as well - we know Rehman is indebted to Hamza for rescuing him from Aslam but he’s also not above selling his own people is well established.

If Rehman had any qualms about killing Hamza even when Jamali asked him to do so, if he did; he could have very well killed him later in his anger when Hamza calls him out for betraying his own people. Or simply asked someone else to do it - Uzair might have hesitated; but Donga or someone else wouldn’t.

Hamza had saved his younger son and Rehman himself to build trust and confidence in him. But at the end of the day loyalty is expected from those at the bottom of the barrel as Hamza was seen when it comes to Rehman, not the other way around. Rehman wouldn’t have cared to kill Hamza if it meant he had something to claim as a price later from Jamali, as a backup plan or simply since he was angry that Hamza dared to call him out while he was expected to be simply following his orders.

Also, I am in the minority who didn't understand the craze of Akshay in Part 1.

For me, Part 1 too was all about Ranveer and Hamza only.
