I don't think it's about indo pak or nationalism. Movie was entertaining n cast's performance was top notch. That's why it could garner massive fan base.

Even fighter had indo pak theme n many other movies but they couldn't click with audience.

Please don't rain the parade of naysayers...How rude!

People crying because of “nationalist” elements. No one had an hard on when Sarfarosh, Gadar, and Maa Tujhhe Salaam came out just to name a few. Why you so worried about Pakistan? Are you perhaps a jihadi lover, a Pakistani, or both?

How would you/one even know about the "no one" when this forum didn't exist yet at the time of release...not even social media did...

And w h a t exactly makes you come to the deduction (underlined by me)?

Where did "worries" about Pakistan get mentioned?

However, to help you out:

"Yes, there were significant concerns regarding the nationalistic themes and portrayal of cross-border politics in the 1999 film Sarfarosh during its production and release, particularly around its direct handling of India-Pakistan tensions." (AI)

"Yes, there were significant concerns, controversies, and debates regarding nationalism in the 2001 Hindi film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. While it was a massive commercial success, critics and observers at the time expressed worries that the film was overly provocative and promoted hyper-nationalism." (AI)

"Yes, there were significant concerns and criticism regarding the nature of nationalism presented in the 2002 film Maa Tujhhe Salaam. Critics and analysts viewed the film as an example of unapologetic jingoism and aggressive nationalism rather than nuanced patriotism." (AI)

You’re really stupid aren’t you? It was a general comment aimed at oyebollywood and rad that modern movies gets more hate as if these types of movies never happened before. And yes the significant concerns of sarfarosh were mainly attributed to Pakistani’s like yourself and therefore had limited screening in that country. Glad Dhurandhar became a successful movie.

bold: Wrong - in content and mindset (at least in the way to adress me)... and I'm not even Pakistani (but even if I would be one, it isn't acceptable, imo)... reported

Try this, dear: write "had there been worries about nationalism in the movie Sarfarosh?" in the Google headline and look what you get shown... then you do the same by replacing the movie-name... never too late to educate oneself smiley2smiley1

“Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) due to references to Pakistan and the ISI. Despite these worries, the film ultimately passed without changes.” LOL
