The words terrorist sympathiser weren’t used but the comparison stands valid as per me. What else exactly am I supposed to take away from that when the escalation from EMA to terrorism is simply incomprehensible.

If she didn’t agree with me, it was fine. But those words weren’t acceptable in any format whatsoever. If you are discussing human beings and their psychology, their behaviour you can’t simply say everything that is ugly should be not explained. And you cannot use such words for someone for simply discussing the dark side of human nature.

Serial killers exist, there are people whose sole job is to catch them; for that they are supposed to think like them. There are those that help these people who must do the same. Understanding the way the minds of these messed up individuals doesn’t necessarily make them defend these criminals, rather they do this just so that the victims and their families can get justice, so that people can be saved from such monsters. There are books, documentaries, shows and movies made about such monsters both fictional and nonfictional; does it mean we should say they’re glorifying these creatures and asking people to defend them or take inspiration from them? No. But these shows, books, movies exist because human beings are capable of being extremely dark, evil and monstrous and denial of the same wont make such creatures go away, nor will it help us.

Discussing dark concepts or concepts that make us uncomfortable is not supposed to mean that someone is allowed to make personal comments about you, just because their worldview is limited or their experiences don’t match yours. No matter what, a civility in conversations is expected in places like these. If you’re not willing to entertain an alternate view for these, just because it doesn’t suit your sensibilities then simply don’t engage in them and ask someone to explain what might prompt such a behaviour then use such words to attack them when they give you an answer you can’t digest.
