Dushmantha Chameera to Mitchell Santner, no run, Sri Lanka lose the review. Arrows it full and close to yorker length, Santner looks to squeeze the drive through the off-side and misses. The ball brushes the ground as he completes the shot

Sri Lanka review! It is for a caught behind. Mendis went up, Chameera joined in but umpire Allahudien Paleker wasn't convinced. This looks like bat brushing the ground. Nothing on UltraEdge. Not Out

Dushmantha Chameera to Mitchell Santner, FOUR, not off the middle but the ball has enough to trickle into the rope. Full toss outside off, it was there for the big hit and Santner went too hard,

Mc: Sowmya’s comment brings back a memory of Santner hitting that last ball match winning six for CSK vs RR, an eternity ago. What a dramatic game that was too.

New Zealand Innings

19.6 Chameera to Santner, OUT

What a stunner to finish things off! Santner spears this away towards covers. It was a full ball. Asalanka was lying in wait at covers, and he puts in a superb dive to his right to just snare this up. He raises his hands in the air and has a smile on his face. That's one way to finish...

Mitchell Santner c Asalanka b Chameera 47 (26b 2x4 4x6) SR: 180.76

NZ finish with 167 runs on the board! They’ll be happy with how better this score is.

8.50pm Have Sri Lanka let this one get away from them? McConchie and Santner's 84-run partnership, for the seventh wicket, has silenced this crowd. Colombo was on its feet and celebrating electric cricket from both sides in the powerplay, before Theekshana and Chameera slotted in with their slow spin to make the most use of this pitch. Both of them end with three-fors, and you thought they would have an easy chase up ahead. But the Sri Lanka bowlers fluffed their lines in the death overs, bowling full toss after full toss, and New Zealand have the advantage in what has been an incredible contest so far.

What a finish from New Zealand! 70 runs from the last 4 overs. They were down and out when Mitchell was cleaned up by Wellalage. But the 84-run partnership between Santner and McConchie has taken them to a par total. Allen got New Zealand off to a flier but could not convert his start, Seifert followed him the next over and they were in a bit of trouble. Rachin and Phillips has a brief partnership but the spinners put the squeeze in the middle overs. Theekshana struck twice in the 12th over and Wellalage followed up, picking 3 wickets for 0 runs in that period. At that stage, it seemed New Zealand would finish with a below par total but a 18-run 17th over set them on course and the duo drove home the momentum. Sri Lanka would have taken 168 when Shanaka won the toss and decided to bowl. But how will their mood be after those last 4 overs? We shall find out.

168/7…Kab? Kyu? Kaise?

I swear when I left to pick my kiddo it was 98/6 in like 16overs.

What sorcery did just happen?
