Lol you think ekta out of all actors will accommodate barkha? Itni special nhi hai ye

This is above Rajiv and Iqbal, her self proclaimed fav kids.

Also for female actors she has a line where any actor would love to work in this show. It's either the chemistry was too good or she wanted cheaper option for this show. I mean no offense but barkha salary won't be that much. It's smriti- amar- barkha - angad- the next gen kids

Noyona already a rapist or kya chahiye. It's just explicitly no one is telling that . Mihir also didn't think that much cause one after another his life is taking hits

Female lust exploring is a bit tricky. As per crime cases women falls for men's brains unlike how men lusts for women's body. She can be shown salivating over mihirs body but even now she's not trying to have sex with him. It's marriage for her now. Isme lust dikhana muskil hai

Imagine now that mihir will have limited mobility noyona tries to help him and he flinch, tells her not to touch him. And tulsi notices. They can explore that part.if writers can write it sensibly

Shobha is there to give company to Ritik and share dukhra with her mumma.

I especially liked vrinda tulsi Shobha talkinf about Gautam. I wish there are more scenes for these 3

Ansh can be shown as vile and monstrous openly and he’s believable as a vile rapist. He’s a man who could overpower a woman.

He was openly sexually harassing her even before he started staying as a Virani in SN. His obsession with her was entirely based on his urge to have her in his bed even if one time. Had she been willing to take money from him and give him one night in bed with her, as he tried to get her to do, he wouldn’t have even remembered her after that night. She would have been flushed out of his system entirely once he got what he wanted.

Her denial was that thing that fuelled his desire even more as he wasn’t used to it.

You could be very open about him - that he has no love for the woman, the person that Nandini is - her body is his only desire.

Noina can’t be shown overpowering Mihir. Not like Ansh overpowered Nandini. Female sexuality is still not something that is explored on TV explicitly, if at all. Women are not shown as purely physical creatures who can have only lust as their motivations too.

Even if Mihir were to come out and say that he was assaulted by Noina when he was under the influence of roofies/alcohol; then too; owing to his gender this would be an extremely uncomfortable thing for him to admit, to say he was vulnerable as men can’t easily express themselves as such. Not to mention, his trust in Noina would also be questioned, he would also be laughed at as who would believe that he was taken advantage of by a petite woman like her?

His behaviour would be questioned. Why did he not pay attention to Noina’s behaviour around him? How did he not pick up her feelings for him? Was he warned about her? If so, by whom, when, why and how many times by how many people? Why did he ignore those warnings?

Above all, his own history of having once cheated on Tulsi and claiming that he didn’t mean for anything to happen but ending up fathering a son on another woman will be in the way and go against him. Who will believe that two different women, decades apart pulled the same trick on him in a way and he fell into their traps both times?

Nandini was told that you were married to this man, ergo regardless of your experience with him, even if you were violated by him, you can’t expect for him to be punished as legally he’s your husband and in the eyes of the law, you two consummated your marriage whether it happened against your will or with it is irrelevant to us as we have nothing in black and white in print for it. A situation such as yours is not in our books therefore at most we can grant you a divorce but nothing more, above and beyond it.

Mihir will be told - fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

Yeah it's basically marital rape reverse without marriage

And it's a social track too. Many men's rights these days are talking about how men sexual issues aren't taken seriously by legal ways and society

If they can show mihir an older established man going through this it can start conversation. But it needs sensitive writing and if the actors want to do it.

And it's also like pari. She ruined her ex husbands life and here mihir has already affair child. It can be boy cried wolf that why he was alone with noyona, why he didn't tell everyone first etc etc. same questions as nandini and gender reverse.

I understand that but her character has no substance and it’s not even making sense at all to me. She’s expecting her parents to reunite when she’s a woman herself and she just doesn’t seem to care about thinking of her mom’s plight in this situation as a woman herself. Shobha had a miscarriage in S1 when she found out Karan was her brother and Mihir had fathered him on Mandira.

She lost a child from the shock of discovering her father’s extramarital affair, from learning she has another brother - one who’s supposed to be younger than her but she’s suddenly calling him Bhaiyya - but her wish is for her mom to forgive her dad. As if all he did was forget her birthday or their anniversary, which while a big deal is still something that could be forgiven eventually.

This was much worse… and her reaction has been chill. It makes no sense. How can you have a grown woman who is a daughter to these people bond with her mom over motherhood while she herself has no sympathy for her mother’s heartbreak.

I don’t expect anything.

They’re making the wolf end up with the boy by playing a romantic song on them now.

It’s not something they think their target audience will accept or want to see. Somehow, people can readily accept a man’s actions being driven by lust, but not a woman’s. If a woman is obsessed with a man, she is either portrayed as being after his money or trying to possess him because she is a brat and cannot take NO for an answer. Other than this, I can’t recall a show offhand that confronts the harsh reality that a woman can be just as vile.

A man coming forward with an experience of sexual harassment is also very rare. Even the law provides emergency measures and awareness for sexual harassment toward women, not men. Agreed, 99% or make that 99.5% of women suffer, so it is a case of the majority, but very rarely do people think about the remaining 0.5%. The message rather clear: men are not supposed to be/ cannot be victims.

Expecting itv writers to show this honestly is futile. They can’t even maintain logic, let alone challenge a narrative their audience would rather not question.

I don’t remember all the details about Ansh. I just remember he was a villain, then obsessed with Nandini and raped her when they were married. I remember his bgm too. Since you remember all the details about Ansh, I don’t think Noina can be compared to him except for sexual assault part. But as you said Ansh’s motive was all about lust but that’s not how Noina is shown. For Noina it’s not all about sexual conquest, but she did sexual assault regardless. She’s crazy about Mihir so drugged him thinking he will confess loving her but instead he was imagining Tulsi and kissed and hugged. She let it happen and took advantage of his drugged state which is sexual assault. Then when he was drunk again she kept getting close to him despite knowing he didn’t love her and she said that too there then. He walked away from her and stopped her when she again started suicide threats. Anyway, let’s see what the makers show

We have to pretend nothing happened to shobha from s1. She grew up seeing mihir cheating once but accepted karan and no drama with her wedding life

Many many many kids out there wants their parents together cause of the kids convenience. They don't want the change. They want to pretend all is fine.so doesn't matter who hurt whom, if only parents can get over and come together that's enough for them
