If Ekta wanted to cash on nostalgia, she would have casted a better actor Parth, but she didn't, so it wouldn't have been any different than what's showing now. Anupam and Kesar are also from OG version only.
Characters regardless of any connection, had to work harder to connect to the audiences as the demographic changed now. Those who were child or were born then are now the audiences.
Angad and Vrinda got connected with many neutral viewers. At least me, as I haven't watched any of their shows earlier. It's because of their story, actors' hardwork and their chemistry, not because of any connection.

@Blue Somewhat agree and that's what I was pointing at - you need to establish characters. I get you like them - fair enough. However, two pretty faces aren't enough for holding my attention, at least. They rushed into their marriage and there hasn't been any proper development in their story. Makers should focus on their writing if they really want to establish them as parallel leads.
