Production houses are not responsible for this. The most they do is ask their actors to promote their new show and even there they have to be careful about which show they are promoting and on which network. An actor from a SP show can’t promote anything from the same PH if it’s meant to be aired on a rival network’s channel. They can promote the show only if it’s on the same channel or on a different channel owned by the same network.

Channels decide which shows they wanna promote based on the surveys their marketing department conducts and per the approval sanctioned by the company’s financial department. We cannot blame Ekta here. She just so happens to be the producer of a franchise that the channel wants to promote thinking that it’s worth the investment.

This starplus is kanjoos. I read somewhere their management head believes in spending the minimum to get the most out. That’s why no high budget for their shows. But the majority share owner is the same. They are giving more budget to colors shows than to starplus

Budget is also decided by a team that works on these channels. And every channel is headed by a different person though both are now owned by Ambani. The Colors channel head works in a different way than the SP one and it makes sense. Colors for the most part these days has no big shows like it did in the past with Balika Vadhu, Na Aana Iss Des, etc. which can be considered dailies. The channel’s main sellers are Naagin, Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi. SP on the other hand does have daily soaps that are working. Technically they have 3 of the highest rated dailies on their channel, and they manage this based on their content alone with a limited budget allocated for marketing. Colors on the other hand would have financial issues if it didn’t promote the 3 shows keeping it afloat.

This looks like a channel giving their all to promote their show - but of the 3 shows mentioned that are the true hits for them - 2 are reality shows which are more or less scripted but which cannot be proven as such. This is their only legit fictional show so they’re pumping in the money.

When Colors had multiple dailies doing well they didn’t go for such kind of a marketing gimmick and campaign either.

Kyunki didn’t need such a campaign because it’s main selling point was nostalgia, Smriti Amar and a lot of OG cast returning, the insane recall value of the show even now and the fact that the show is not catered towards youth unlike Naagin, which mostly has younger fan base but literally moms and grannies as well as the kids who grew up on Kyunki who don’t need all of this to be asked to watch Kyunki.

No, it’s not shown as of yet but they might go down that route for all we know to unite Hrithik and Munni.
