DHURANDHAR is not a film , it is a QUANTUM LEAP in INDIAN CINEMA

To me, Saiyaara was the biggest win of 2025

I agree, nobody expected what it achieved
Have you watched Dhurandhar? How can you declare it as loud cinema or whatever without even watching it? Isn't that ethically wrong? You are allowed to make whatever movie you like as your favorite of the year without pulling down other movies?
I have watched it and it utilizes every cliched trope!
I am allowed to make a comparison when I have watched both movies!
Calling a film “loud” or “spectacle-driven” isn’t a moral judgement; it’s a descriptive critique of its cinematic grammar, just like calling a film “quiet,” “intimate,” or “minimal.” Those are neutral analytical terms, not insults.

Since you have watched the movie, my post doesn't stand...Of course, you can make comparisons of two movies you watched and have your own opinions...
Did you like the movie at all? Would love to read your review...
Fair enough — and I appreciate that clarification.
Yes, I’ve watched Dhurandhar, and I did engage with it on its own terms. There are things I genuinely admired: its scale, technical polish, conviction in tone, and the confidence with which it embraces mass spectacle. It knows exactly what kind of film it wants to be — and executes that vision efficiently.
My point was never that Dhurandhar is a “bad” film. It’s that it represents a cinematic language we already see plenty of, while Saiyaara felt like a rupture — a return to emotional intimacy, romantic vulnerability, and performance-first storytelling at a time when those choices feel almost radical.

I loved Saiyaara too...My other favorite movie of the year....Loved it for the sheer innocence it brings in through its spectacular debutants who turned in such honest and heart tugging performances..Saiyaara for me is its songs and the brilliant debutants Aneet and Ahaan....And Ahaan is quickly becoming my other favorite after Ranveer....He has a great future if he carefully chooses his next projects....
dhurandhar is running packed houses cos it is 100% propoganda, same story, beat up indo/pak
but brilliantly directed and presented by Dhar . like i said before every citizen and non citizen of this country and middle east will watch this movie. it has even potential do more than 2000 cr. conversation surrounding this movie has caught like wild fire
Saiyaara was a average watch, liked both actors, i am still surprised to see it did that kind of business.
but yes..a clean organic hit with no no agenda ,deshdrohi, deshbhakti issues. just simple movie to spread love i guess
As I can relate to your impressions, I also see Saiyaara as an emotional gem in a box of 'bric-a-brac'. And I also agree with Dhurandhar being a very special movie blending cinematographic prowess with the wish to transport a certain (political) thinking.
The main thing: both have a big entertainment and review quality...and that has become rather something special in the current Indian/Hindi film-landscape (imo).

They say one rotten apple can spoil the lot, but Saiyaara proved the opposite. In an industry saturated with remakes, safe bets, and that...
A straight-from-the-heart question: Who impressed you more in the movie Saiyaara? According to me, nether of them missed a beat! However if I...
You know how sometimes you sit through one glossy, formulaic Bollywood film after another—propaganda masquerading as cinema, remakes of remakes...
