I hate violence but how is this piece so delicious to watch….I am just not able to get enough of it…

Disclaimer: the contents are absolutely addictive and discretion is not at all recommended….😅

The wrath or the determination of men easily can result in raw violence...it's like instincts of nature, I think...

What makes me curious is what would top these shots in the next instalment? I mean these shots have been released in the promos/teasers/song videos already.

Dhar is too intelligent to give all his best scenes away like this, especially when he decided to split the movie in two parts. There’s bound to be things that are not shown, which means they’re the real deal in the next one because most of the shots of violence in this video are from the next movie. So the real deal is yet to be unveiled.

Not just the visuals and story….how the heck are they going to match up to the banger of this album…I am more worried about that….😅

I don’t know how but in Aditya I trust…and in Ranveer I trust to deliver Aditya’s vision….

Shashwat Sachdev and Aditya Dhar know their tunes so I can’t imagine them letting us down with the second album at all.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they have even better songs there than on this one. This one itself is such a crazy lineup and has artists that we had no idea about, heck, the album doesn’t even have Akshaye Khanna’s viral entry song but somehow these two mad geniuses discovered it and it has exploded on the scene and how! Bet you even they didn’t anticipate it’s craze.

That’s why I’m kinda even more pumped for Part 2 as we know in it Hamza becomes the boss. There’s even a scene where Hamza will be shown at the Baloch congregation or whatever it is and he’s gonna be sitting exactly where Rehman was.

I can’t imagine them not having bangers for the next one because the scenes themselves are so crazy. Wouldn’t surprise me if they have a Karavan reprise or something in that one too because in the trailer they had what seemed and sounds like a different version than the one we have now for this album. I trust them to pull a rabbit out of the hat there because damn, I tell you that I was NOT expecting Sonu Nigam collaborating with a rapper and for that fusion to sound like a dream especially given that his part is essentially a reprise of a Qawwali from before I was even born smiley36

I expect a lot more reprisals of old songs in the next one too given their tie-up with Sa Re Ga Ma records. Would be fun if they incorporate some song of Vinod Khanna, Sunil Dutt or Nargis, given their sons are involved. Heck I think they’ll bring the house down if they get Maddy’s iconic Sach Keh Raha Hai Deewana and give it their magic touch. I mean can you imagine the chorus from that one on Hamza Yalina as she finds out she’s been married to a guy faking his identity all along.

Jhuthe hai yaar ke vaade sare
Jhuthi hai pyaar ki kasmen

People might legit scream from happiness and joy in the multiplex smiley36 those words are even perfect without even trying.

I mean just hear the score here in this teaser, we practically watch his transition and get the glimpses of his past and future that pique our interest and curiosity but at no point do we really learn anything that acts as a spoiler.

Dhar has found an absolute genius in his BIL if he can edit like this at mere 22. Boy has a brilliant future ahead of him and I wish him all the luck because we need good editors now perhaps more than ever when we find out what the movie is all about and can predict the ending from a mile away before the movie is even out.

For one.I am so glad the baloch congregation scene was already out in the teaser because if it wasn't, the director and Ranveer would've been accused of trying to add it because of how viral the Akshaye's bit went....Even now, just watch some chuchundars missing the nuance....smiley22smiley36

Yes, can't imagine Shashwat not being able to match up to the part 1 soundtrack though comparisons are bound to happen nevertheless....

Editing has been consistently good ever since the first glimpse of the movie which shows the guy is genuinely talented....We need not just good editors but good writers too...Bollywood is severely lacking in these two departments....

Actually, I don't think that there is a "lacking" of talents, but more a "lacking" of seeing &using it/them...

@bold - oh boy, that would have happened. I’m pretty sure they’re gonna compare the two regardless and put Ranveer down for his scene 3 months from now. Just because the place is same, the designation is same and both are in black clothes in their scenes.

They’ll complain though these are 2 different people with completely different personalities and motivations. It’s like, the obvious is the most elusive thing to notice.

@blue - I don’t blame most people. We have had very few successful spy based movies in Bollywood shockingly. Of those the recent ones were mostly fluffs that went into fantasy mode, the closest thing to reality was Baby and even that was from the previous decade iirc. And even there Akshay who plays the lead is not as much of an undercover agent on a long mission as much as he’s an investigator. The sequel Naam Shabana didn’t work because it lacked in terms of script and execution in all departments.

Dhurandhar is probably the first movie of its kind in Bollywood where spy based movies are concerned. I’m not as familiar with movies from other industries in India so I can’t speak for those.

So the nuances are missed because this is a novel experience for most and unfortunately for us, be it in terms of movies or TV, we have been watching subpar content for ages. There are no smart shows or movies that engage us cerebrally made here as often as one likes. You get something occasionally but it’s blink and miss.

An experience like this would take time to sink in for first time viewers who have never watched something like this. Spy thrillers going forward will however have a very difficult time getting audiences to love them given the reception, how audiences are going for multiple shows despite knowing the plot beat for beat because they can’t get enough of the experience and wanna see what else they can pick up on that they might have missed earlier. Dhurandhar has raised the bar really, really high and I’m glad for it.

This is just with part one, part two will be the real deal which might even scare others from attempting anything in this genre for the next couple of years until and unless they got a real fantastic, watertight plot on their hands.

That this movie is blurring lines is also telling. In the recent years, especially post Bahubali movies from Southern India have been dubbed in Hindi and done phenomenally well because of plot, execution and acting. But no Hindi movie had created a similar buzz the other way around in South, Dhurandhar broke that barrier and is going from Hindi to Southern Indian languages. I read that they’re eyeing Christmas weekend release for this part and the next one will be a Pan India release as they have ample time to get the movie dubbed simultaneously in all the languages as it’s already been shot.

The fact that stalwarts from various Southern industries are themselves appreciating the movie tells you a lot too. And it’s all happening organically too so it’s massive. This movie will also impact the moviemakers in South to provide their own spin on such a plot with their own lenses. I’m unaware if either of the Southern movie industries have made a movie on a similar subject matter in the past but we can expect something in the future, maybe not soon in the immediate future but surely after a couple of years.

@green - inevitable on both counts.

@purple - absolutely agree. The kid is talented and we need more like him in editing department and writers like Dhar.
