She’s and I don’t mean it in a derogatory way, Gen Z. She’s not hung up on one guy but is clear about what she wants. She wants the Virani surname or something equivalent to it so she can flaunt her identity, her husband and have a fabulous lifestyle even post marriage regardless of whether she works a day in her life or not 
She makes more sense to me than Pari does, wouldn’t surprise me if she also tries her shot with Pari’s other nephew - aka Karisma’s son if he pops up as we were told she’s probably gonna appear for this wedding with her son in tow. I don’t know if she’s going to be played by the same actress or not because she claimed she was fired from the show in S1 over political differences with Smriti but no one else made such a claim and I doubt that she was the only one person who had political differences with her.
Anyways, whoever plays the character is irrelevant ATM. From what I recall, Karisma was married to an older guy who was a very famous and successful film director and probably a producer too. Karisma meets him on the sets of a movie he’s making as one of his assistants or writers or something; she’s working as crew that’s what I remember and they fall in love despite the age difference and him being from a different community too as a Bengali. Karisma also was involved in some accident case where his brother died or was injured or something but that drama was over soon and they got married and she was gone from the show since then.
So if she returns and is now a rich and successful movie director/writer/owner of a production house and her son is handsome and rich too, Mittali might as well try her chance with him too She might even prefer him over Parth since Karisma married a Bong so she might not have to compromise on her dietary choices and may even not need to learn bhajans and all to impress him unlike Parth who I think will want his wife to be a bit traditional too like himself even if she doesn’t necessarily have to be a saree/salwar kameez clad simple girl. He would want his wife to adapt to his lifestyle and his family’s customs which Mittali might not exactly be thrilled about. Currently she thinks he’s handsome, rich, a Virani and since he’s US raised like her he would be very cool with her adapting to a similar lifestyle as a typical Indian in America but she doesn’t know Parth and is yet not aware that Parth will be shown eventually settling down in India too as will his parents and younger siblings. She may be under the impression that Parth is here for the wedding and occasionally drops by to join the family and that she can handle but will she be able to handle permanently staying in India with the huge extended joint family that the Viranis are along with Parth’s expectations of a wife rooted in traditions, remains to be seen.
