He was blacklisted for his unprofessionalism and weird behavior bordering on Schizophrenia. Also all his weird statements. Hopefully he's turned over a new leaf and he does get another shot though, if not in Bollywood, atleast on OTT. His slapstick comedy skills are unmatched.

I agree to all your words except of one thing - Govinda was never a bigger star than the Khans, but indeed he had a stardom and a separate fan-base.

I am talking about the period between 1992 to 1998, Govinda ruled that time. He had more hits. He was everywhere.

Govinda was never a major star. He was like Ajay Devgan of today. Majorly dependant on David Dhawan just as Ajay is with Rohit Shetty. No Big Openings or Grossers.

I am also a 90's person. I remember very clearly. Govinda was very famous that time. His songs were everywhere. He was a household favourite. Even though DDLJ was a huge Shahrukh's mass popularity and stardom actually started after Kuch kuch hota hai, Mohabbatein and K3G which made him no.1.

Ego, unpunctual and inefficient were all the traits Govinda had.
