England had a scratchy start with the ball and in the field too, but they got their act together briefly after the powerplay and did exceedingly well to restrict the White Ferns (their lowest total this tournament) to a below-par total. The partnership between Plimmer and Melie Kerr did bring some control, but both batters departed off successive deliveries and New Zealand never quite recovered from there. The absence of Ecclestone (due to a left shoulder injury) for almost the entirety of the innings meant, NSB had to rotate her bowlers smartly. She got great support from Capsey and Dean alongside the impressive Linsey Smith, who all combined to claim six wickets between them. Unfortunately for New Zealand, their tail didn't wag and they ended up losing their last 5 wickets for 13 runs. The surface is drier and is holding up a touch, but it is surely not a 168 all-out pitch. England will and should back themselves to chase this down inside 40. Let's see how things roll after the innings break...

The four semi-finalists of the 2025 WWC have been confirmed. India have made it, Bangladesh haven't. India are playing to fine tune their skills, as Sruthi Ravindranath said in her preview. Bangladesh will play for pride, and maybe give India a run for their money if not beat them. Like they did to England. In a global tournament where jeopardy/threat to lose is a major selling point, here we are, afforded an opportunity to enjoy a tension-free competitive game

Toss delayed due to rain in Navi Mumbai.

Uma Chetry has been given her maiden ODI cap. She got it from Smriti Mandhana in the huddle and will don the keeping gloves today after Richa Ghosh took a blow to her fingers in the previous game.

Nigar Sultana Bangladesh captain: Kind of good for us because our bowlers have been doing well. Have to give them a good total to defend. Was pretty difficult (getting over SL defeat). Have to move on and play our A game. The way our bowlers have been bowling, and looking at the conditions, 230-plus can be a good total.

Harmanpreet India captain: We're going to bowl first. Because of the overcast conditions we thought bowling would be a good decision. She's going to debut today (Uma Chetry). Richa is resting. Two more players are resting - Kranti and Sneh Rana. Had the self belief that we can change this (after three losses).

India Women have won the toss and have opted to field
