I am 100% sure that task was designed for him.. makers know physical task hua, even zyada dinag wala kuch hua where you need to convince people or something, waha na ho payega inse. So they curated the task for him as a face saver for him. If BB wants him to be captain, then they will have to come up with a special task...like enact scene from Anupama, whoever does best, will become captain and then BAM!! GK ban gaya captain.
