🏏India vs Pakistan, Asia Cup-Super Four, Match 14 (A1 v A2) Dubai🏏- Page 32

Abhishek made the base … Tilak finished it with his 6

It may have gone to the 19th over but India were always winning this. Especially after the opening stand between Abhishek and Gill. The former started it all off as he slammed the first ball from Shaheen Afridi for six. Saim Ayub who took a three-fer when these two last played, was way too short and paid the price.

Words flew and tensions were high as both the openers engaged in a verbal tirade with Shaheen Afridi and Rauf in particular. Eventually the opening stand was broken right after the drinks break and Pakistan got a few wickets too to pull things back, but the result was never in doubt. Abhishek's innings of 74 was studded with big hits, those towering sixes over mid-wicket off Abrar being the highlight. India stamp their authority on Pakistan once again and begin their Super Fours campaign on a winning note. Stay tuned for the post-match stuff...

Here's Pratyush Sinha giving us the inside info from the venue on what transpired post-game: After Hardik and Tilak went back to the dugout, the team greeted them and then there was some discussion. They made a beeline, came some way towards the presentation area (which is midpoint of the two dugouts), shook hands with both the umpires and made a U turn. Salman Agha and Hesson chatting. Looks like we will see him at post match presentation today!

Mustafa Moudi: "I feel Sanju Samson is the Unfortunate Opener in T20 Cricket. For Team India, it was Rohit and Various other openers, including Virat Kohli, that never let him open and then when he actually proved his ability with back to back centuries last year, once against lost his opening slot to Jaiswal and now to Gill. In RR too, first it was Jaiswal-Buttler and when Buttler left, it was Raghuvanshi. Seems like opening is never meant for Poor Sanju !!"

zops: "amidst all this, the lacklustre fielding performce and catch drops from india will be forgotten i fear... they could have made it so much easier for themsleves, and other teams would have punbished them way harder."

When Rohit, Virat, and Jadeja have left T20 and India is still performing the way it has been for last some years.....nothing changed.....perfect selection....Abhishek...Tilak...👌

Awesome by Sharma...

They were coming to us without any reason so I thought it's good to reply by bat

And that too to a Pakistani presenter

So Pakistan is there in presentation today

Abhishek Sharma | Player of the Match: Today was pretty simple, the way they were coming out to us without any reason, I did not like it at all. That's why I went after them. I wanted to deliver for the team. We have been playing since school days, we enjoy each other's company, we thought we would do it and today was the day. The way he was giving it back, I really enjoyed it. If you see someone playing like this, that's the intent I show and I'm practicing really hard and if it's my day, I'm gonna win it for my team.
