I am glad this match happened even after all the boycott calls..even happier about the result.

This is a tournament..if India had refused to play Pak would automatically get the winning points. And God forbid if India loses the cup these same people outraging today would be blaming the authorities for giving away the crucial points. Now we have n upper hand.

When opposition started supporting the boycott call it should’ve been n eye opener..they wanted the match to be abandoned, India losing points, Pak rejoicing the win given on platter and of course international platforms blaming India for not having sportsman spirit.

Some r saying when SA team was banned coz of apartheid no team played against them. Is it the same situation? India is putting across its point against Pak since ages..entire world realises this now..but is the team banned? Was the tournament abandoned? Then why play into the hands of people who want anarchy? They r sly n smart..gullible people walk right into their trap. Thank God the govt is smarter

Sab kuchh allow karo. Humare soldiers ka to job hi hai humare jaise dhakkans ke liye marna....wo marte hi rahenge... Agar kuchh ordinary citizens bhi mar gaye to kaun sa aasman toot pada. Why should we care? Humare Ghar ke to nahi mare na! For us Points are much more important. Plus we dhakkans will jump in river if the opposition ever supports not going near a flooded river. Opposing the opposition is our param kartavya. Thank you. 🙏🏼

Technically whichever way we choose, nuksaan humara hi hai. If we choose to play, we are insulting the army, if we choose not to play, we are automatically foregoing the points, since they are ready to play and we aren't. So who's right & who's wrong ?

I think irrespective of this game, slowly airspace, train, bus between nations etc everything will open up after a few years if things are stable.

What happened in the India vs Pakistan match will be remembered for more than the result. The Indian team not shaking hands with Pakistan’s players at the toss and even after winning wasn’t some random act. It was deliberate, and it was a message.

After incidents like the Pahalgam attack, offering a handshake and pretending everything is fine would have been wrong. Sometimes silence or refusal says more than words. Playing the Asia Cup was necessary, boycotting it would have weakened our standing as the top team. But playing, winning, and then choosing how to respond afterwards gave India the upper hand both on the field and off it.

And let’s be clear: if this had happened after a defeat, it would have been painted as being “sore losers.” The fact that it happened after a dominant win makes the message even stronger. It shows the team wasn’t acting out of frustration, but out of conviction.

This isn’t the first time cricket has been used to make a point. Andy Flower and Henry Olonga’s black armband protest in 2003, or players taking the knee for Black Lives Matter, were also moments when sport became a stage for bigger issues. Yesterday, India did the same in its own way.

To me, this was not poor sportsmanship. It was India showing strength, that we’ll play, we’ll win, but we won’t pretend like nothing has happened.

I read somewhere that Indian team had told about this before the toss itself, that they will not be shaking hands with the Pakistani players.

Intention is to create anarchy..is tarah nahi to us tarah. Aren’t we seeing so many countries in total chaos? India is too big a country to handle nationwide chaos. Ek chingari hi kaafi hai.
aren’t we hearing things like ‘ban social media’ since long? Look at Nepal.

Aren’t we hearing ‘abolish quotas’ and ‘students protest’ since long? Look at Bangladesh.

Why did French govt collapse? Financial crisis is one of the reasons.
Nation has every right to be emotional for its soldiers and standing in solidarity with them. And they did..empty stadiums, low viewership is a testament to that. Match khela bhi gaya, jeeta bhi gaya aur viewership bhi nahi mili..

Think Sir..I respect ur views. But politics is a bigger mind game than cricket.

I know that opposition is trying hard to create anarchy and topple the government but then why give them a reason to get support from general public? Kuchh dino pehle Tak khoon aur Paani sath nahi beh sakta tha par ab bol rahe hai humne khoon aur cricket ki baat thode na ki thi. They are themselves acting hypocritical. Why even ban paki movies, filmstars or cricket when you will lift the ban after u think the public memory has faded.

As for govt. Change, people like me may be emotional but itne bhi nahi ki congress ko vote karke suicide kar lein. Frankly, there is no other option than BJP currently. Even the thought of Congress or Congress coalition government (whether in centre or state) is scary.

Many army people initiated and supported the boycott. Then other prominent people joined the movement.You think they are dhakkans? Unko ye sab pollitics samajh nahi aati ki kyun left aur opposition isme jud raha hai? You really think we are THIS naive? Arfa sherwani jaise logon ko, jo behte pani me apne haath dho rahe hain, unko kayde se latada bhi ja raha hai sm pe.

It's all a matter of money and top politicians are involved and I won't hesitate from calling them out just because opposition will join the band wagon for its benefit. I will always support the current opposition to stay in the opposition cos that's where they truly belong.
