I like it so far. The writing style is easy to absorb and flows quickly - not too descriptive and there’s a fair amount of dialogue so that’s good. Reminds me of Christie actually.

Haan, it's written in a letter format. I like it. I get bored when its too descriptive, thats my problem with Nita Prose. I can never get into her books.

I thought Christie's writing is more complicated and uses older English, thats why I still havent tried.smiley36

Yeah Christie is old school but her prose is pretty easy to read imo. I meant the way the writing flows - not too descriptive, fair amount of conversations, and descriptions - if there- are pretty short.

Tumhe hee pooch rahi thi smiley36 since Vera said she hasn’t got the book yet.

I’m on page 80 something in the paperback - at the point where she’s accepted the job offer and has moved in.

I have never read Nita Prose - uske naam mein hee Prose hai toh it’s understandable that her writing is descriptive smiley36 What genre does she write?

Oh I'm at the part where she comes to meet the lady (forgot her name) but shes basically been shown the rooms of the kids. So I guess youre already ahead.

Nita Prose also write mystery like Freida McFadden. But her books dont really give the thriller vibe. It's like a whodunit and it gets revealed at the end. The rest of the book the FMC just talks about her family and other characters and suspects everyone.smiley36

Haan dekh lo if you like it, you can read The Maid. Her books are cozy mysteries rather than intense edge-of-the-seat types.smiley36

Ohh The Maid is hers! Is it the book on which the series is based (that wasn't a mystery so I think probably not smiley36)

I think there are 3 or 4 books in the series. The series is titled Molly The Maid.

Nah I was talking about the TV series 'Maid'. That's not a mystery so it isn't based on this book though I just checked - there's a movie adaptation of this book.

Oh yeah - I've heard of this book (ofc I have!) - I just didn't make the connection with the author's name.
