I understand the P.O.V regarding acchu, sacchu Neil's urge of being a helping hand. Maybe, I would have given them leeway, if channel had dropped that promo with this tagline for his earlier help
but yaha help karne ki baat hi nahi hai, humanitarian assistance ke naam pe maang bhare jaarahe
Koi bhi sajjan aadmi "abla naari ko dekhte hi randomly sindoor lagate nahi phirte"
It's like bhaad me gayi teri madad, "how dare you put sindoor for any goddamn xyz reasons" It's just not done. Matlab, a few men like Neil, madad karne ka dhong se chipke isliye rahte hai, so that one fine day they could get an opportune moment like this. It wouldn't have taken one to be an IPS to do that, any sane woman would've given Neil like men a good thrashing & proper confrontation, maar maarke kachumbar banate uska pehle, bada aaya madad karne wala, when police was already on its way....Shaadi karne ka bahana chahiye tha hogaya, vaise Indian judiciary aise marriage ko null & void consider karti hai
but all that a sham of an IPS could do was to give shocked & bechaari reaction- her 0 resistance is disgusting & speaks volume about her silent approval & acceptance.... Badi Savi's comeback has been a huge disappointment & destructed her characterization like anything
You were saying, makers have done dirty with ISHVI, SARAJ, Tejneil, Rajat & Teju individually, but what I believe is, they've actually done more dirty with character Savi & Neil by butchering them like anything, despite makers' despo attempt to villainize Rajat-Teju smugglers, it's actually Savneil who've been made worse. Nobody can tolerate them onscreen anymore, while maximum people are sympathizing with the departed soul- ki bura hua bechaaro ke saath
@Bold Couldn't agree more.
You see, I have been watching ITV shows since I was a kid and now I'm a big, fat adult.
Over the years I have realized one thing - perspective changes. Specially when you have seen life more, faced issues and know how the real world works, your POV can change drastically.
This is not related to Ghum but in general, there were movies/shows/characters I loved earlier and now I can't accept them. And then there were characters I found to be weak/questionable and now I understand why at certain time people do certain things.
Also, I have seen fans' blind support and bias along the way.
So when it comes to giving the benefit of the doubt, usually I try not to judge until there's absolutely no other way.
Par humare Ganja PH iss sab se pare hain!
I think I was telling this exact thing some other day - that Savi and Neel would have made sense if there was development and other things. Like I know why S2 fans think S2.5 is a degradation but at least there was some cohesiveness in the storytelling. I love to analyze characters and felt Savi's trauma and how that shaped her later was quite believable and intriguing. I know for the majority it was just a copy-paste of YHM. For me, it was a journey.
Also Sai's bond with Savi felt much more organic to me.
So that's a different thing.
But now we have an IPS officer who shivers every second, can't open her mouth and cries all the time. I'm a sucker for mother-child bond and Bhavika is a good actress so I still watch SaiSa scenes irrespective of what crap they are showing. But when I think about it, I just want to enter the screen, give her two tight slaps and scream - "Woman! Get a grip over yourself!"
So needless to say, the destruction of a character that I once loved does really hurt me.
