I politely disagree. Actually, in the show, violence isn't gratuitous at all. Violence has a meaning in Squid Game. VIPs go there to watch those deadly games. They're sick and rich people. They consider those games 'entertaining' and those games are arranged for their 'entertainment'. Also, the people of Squid Game are associated with organ trafficking activities. It's an integral part of the games' operations.They sell the organs of the participants they kill. I think Squid Game isn't average at all. It's very thrilling and has a lot of emotional depth. I'm a very emotional person. So, I like the way emotions are portrayed in that show. But different people have different views and I completely understand that.

Thanks for your recommendation. I'm not fond of romantic shows either, nor I could tolerate too much drama. I prefer thrillers and crime procedurals. Shows like Psych and The Mentalist are among my favorites. Besides, K-dramas are not my cup of tea. If you have any US shows on your mind that fits the profile, please do let me know.

You can try watching Locke & Key. It's an extremely interesting American series. But it isn't a thriller. It's a supernatural show.

Ishan was a good actor but his chemistry with savi was always teacher student ., and they barely had scenes together .. Reeva was never shown negative ..

He was shown an honourable exit trying to save Savi .. and give her stability with his parents as family

Savi and Rajat had good and balanced chemistry.. they gave horrible clothes to a good looking guy Hitesh .. .. but still they were balanced age wise and had man woman chemistry

the child Sai was faltering at the start but later on she picked up well

the vamp and villains were good ansh gujral and Ashka plus that guy who was the jija ..

They had extended duration but still maintained themselves on top 5

with good wardrobe they could have done better .

There was enough plot lines with mrinu getting married ansh gujral .Ashka left aside .. to build and extend the season

They had also got the guy as savi’s best friend but pure ganja giri made them close the season ..

If Savi had been shown to become an IAS officer .. and the story continued., the flow would have been there

Be it ishvi or saraj. Show was managed to be in top 5 most of the times.

They replaced shakti because they were greedy for top 2 position and also they messed up their story so badly by making ishaan so inclined towards reva. He was having emotional affair openly without any guilt. Moreover ishaan reva were in love with each other for many years unlike virakhi 2 days love. Savi falling for ishaan even when he was throwing his gf on her face was abrupt. The whole story went no where after their marriage. They really don't know how to take forward the story. Also professor student trope is so icky especially when ml is in love with other woman.

Then they introduced saraj. Probably the most light hearted season of the whole show despite its toxic elements. They gave good backstory to the leads by taking 7 years leap. By giving savi everything what she missed in her previous marriage. They blatantly copy pasted yhm. No efforts needed. Still the show managed to be in top 5. They ruined rajat character too. But gave such kind of ending where people can have pleasant feeling. But being in top 5 was also not satisfactory for greedy makers. Yes it went out of top 5 few times it had many factors like maha sangam episodes, blatant copy paste of well known story, more importance to side characters. Still thakkar family were accepted by audience in short span of time. If they weren't accepted, the show would have never touched top 5 even for once. But that's not the case. They were in top 2 for marriage episodes too.

But they ended abruptly with the greed of more trp and introduced new characters without proper buildup.

When they didn't get ratings instead trp touched low they blamed actors and did more kichdi by bringing back old actress by ruining her happy ending and making mockery out of her character.

Over-all they successfully ruined all couples. But the dignity of Savi character was lost. She became laughing stock with her nth chance of falling in love after previous partner death.

That's what I am thinking 😂. The actress got blamed for each and everything. Now whom they're gonna blame . It's easy to gang up on an actor who has no online FD or who's not playing any sympathy card but the main problem lies within the ph. Anyway it's a karma for the ph too whose false narratives ruined many actors' offscreen and personal lives to use that as a negative publicity for the show.

Every person who said bhavika entry was pre planned to project vaibhaavi as side actress after introducing her as lead deserves to face downfall. So many people lost my respect in this fiasco.

@bold That's the concept I dislike. It's just too much negativity for me to handle. People volunteering to participate in those brutal games out of bankruptcy, and rich people taking advantage of their situation. However, since I have watched only 4 episodes, I cannot comment on how good the show is. If you insist it's good, then it must be. But I'm a very impatient person who cannot sit through that much violence to see those sick freaks brought to justice, if that ever happens.

I've seen it. It's a good show. I also enjoy loght hearted shows like The Good Place. It's a really nice one.
