ITV I tell you ..such shitty scripts they write but push us to delve into the world of the medical and legal sciences …so I guess watching ITV soaps is not a waste of time after all …lots of knowledge to be gained in the process of making sense of nonsense
Coming to the issue of Armaan being thrown into prison, sadly Indian laws do not validate a case against him …parental alienation is not recognized as a crime in India and there are no laws to govern that ..also whether we like it or not, Hindu law sees the father as the natural guardian ..note I say natural and not legal …legal guardianship or custody requires people to go to court to establish their rights ..in this case, there has been no custody case since the parents are still married …
@bold but according to Hindu Law a mother is a natural guardian of a minor child (as per Hindu guardianship law of 1956), she is always given custody of minor child till the child reaches age of five/seven years. Even if father might be considered a natural guardian, minor stays with the mother. Kairav, Abhir & Maira all three were minor, when they were separated from one parent. Kairav and Abhir were with their mothers who would naturally be given their custody or they would not be separated from their mothers even for a single day with fathers sharing joint custody or having visitation rights, but Maira wasn't with the parent i-e her biological mother who would be given the custody/guardianship according to law.

@red No, separated parents can also appeal for custody.
