Yeah, to be fair, he did try to hold onto Piya. But the illusion was too strong and with the Reevavanshis continuously shuffling between the two worlds, it became infinite times more difficult for him to have any sort of clarity. Now that he's aware of what's happening, he'll do everything in his power to set everything right.

The next chapter will contain the ultimate showdown.

I was really skeptical about this chapter as there were a lot of references from the original show and the logic behind fate playing its game was a bit puzzling, even for me.

But... I had so much fun writing it. Ansh leaving Piya was one of the most unrealistic storyline in the show. And when Nikki and I originally started writing this fic years ago, even we weren't convinced that such a situation can arise.

Now that I have seen life a bit more and can think of more complex emotions, I think this time the plot fitted well and did full justice to the original characters.

Even if I can't finish the story now or take a REALLY long time to update the last couple of chapters, I am glad that at least I have been able to tie all the loose ends and any of my reader won't be left wondering what could have happened.

Piya and Ansh were always supposed to find their way back to each other and they did...

All that remains is them getting back to their world and I really hope I don't take forever to write it.

Went back and read it again. She came back and even he is OK. She got to see her family, even if they can't be with her now. She saw them, talked to them. Its something.
