There are several mothers in this show all protective of their children, other than ARS towards Mannat who has knowingly attempted to murder her child.

In ARS’s case we don’t know the full b/g of the root cause of her hate, but there are still other ways of dealing with it than attempting to kill your own child for your own self interest. ARS knows full well whether she is doing.

But Neetu was shown from the beginning to suffer depression (possibly from having lost her own son) & also made a recent suicide attempt. Her mental illness and fear of loosing Vikrant hasn’t been properly addressed or treated and is out of hand now, she fed him drugs to suppress his memory not knowingly harm him. But she’s in too deep and her mental state worsening so is continuing to lie to stop darker secrets coming out which Vikrant will not forgive her for, and distance himself. A vicious circle of her own making.
