Harshad and RS did have creative differences over his role. The channel wanted HC to stay but there were a lot of deliberations and to and fro. He did not eventually renew the contract.

Karta bhi kyun? A lot of his fans were not happy with how the character was going, at least not the neutral ones. Plus RS did not give him any incentive for staying back. It makes sense.

I feel that in itv, Harshad Chopra is perhaps the only actor who consistently delivers back-to-back successful shows. Honestly, I can't think of many others — though Shakti deserves a mention too. However, Harshad’s stature is much bigger. Many actors do deliver one iconic hit, but after that, we rarely see them getting another substantial role. In contrast, Harshad continues to secure major projects, and almost all of his shows turn out to be successful. Even among the leads from yrkkh, none have managed to replicate their success elsewhere. Shivangi had three back-to-back flops, Pranali's Durga went off-air within four months, and Mohsin is currently not active in daily soaps.

It seems you and me are minority. I've been bashed several times on Reddit for pointing out Harshad has been a bigshot actor since his early 20s in 2007-08 era and has sustained his stardom doing shows where the male lead was as important as the female lead if not more. In Reddit, Harshad is the worst and most overrated ITV actor. Even Shakti carried the whole show Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi alone on his shoulders. I know people mock them calling them oldies and what not, but these guys do deserve the popularity they have.

Ahh Kayamath!

Its mere mention brings a smile to my face.

But it's also true Kayamath taught me a good lesson and I detached from ITV permanently when they sidelined Neev. It's funny because till the last episode I kept hoping for some miracle so Neev gets Prachi but alas!

Years later, I started watching YHM and Ekta again made a fool of myself.
