My quote was in reference to 'spunk' factor...yes, Pooja was wild & catty. But so were other 90's actresses. If Pooja was hypothetically with current lot of actresses, she would act differently too. So 'spunk' comparison with Alia is also invalid.

Pooja wasted her talent because she was an addict & took things for granted. With the privileges that she had, she could have possibly sustained herself (surpassing was difficult) against her contemporaries.

Regarding looks, Pooja was cute till she became really unfit & camera couldn't hide her flaws. Alia was cute till she wasn't trying to be sexy. Both were/are not good looking.

Grew up in a toxic family married to another toxic family.

I feel Alia will be happy that he praised her husband.

Pooja was quite smart for her times, but she limit her potential herself and chances by choosing to work majorly in her father's films only.

Obviously, the backlash had an effect...it's not really opportune to paint Alia in a negative light

That said (written), some here pointed out a crucial difference between Alia and her half-sister...and in addition, for Pooja, there wasn't a Karan Johar who gave security and caring to Alia.

I think that it is quite rare that there is harmony in a (film-)family, especially in a once disrupted one.

In 2012 when Alia debuted there were many others who also came around the same time. Parineeti debuted & was praised for Ishaqzaade. Illeana won all best debut awards for Barfi & I actually thought she would make it big. Yami was the prettiest. In 2013 Shraddha got a hit movie & became the new crush for men. In 2014-15 I thought Kangana would become no.1 but then she messed up her career due to her foot in the mouth social interactions. In 2014 also came Kriti & honestly I didn't think Kriti would make it this far but she is doing really well being an outsider. Among all of them its only Alia had the backing of Kjo to get the best of the scripts. The new kids like Ananya Shanaya consider Alia their inspiration.

He knows his sister Pooja is an actress. So he can easily say that she is more talented and sexy. Because this is what is needed to be an actress.

I see Pooja more talented and more beautiful than Alia.
