GT have posted a tall total once again after being asked to bat first. Sai Sudharsan helped build a strong base for the assault towards the end of the innings. His partnership with Buttler helped GT recover from Archer's early blow. And once Sai Sudharsan and Shahrukh got going, RR were left searching. Tewatia and Rashid helped add the power towards the end. Sai Sudharsan looked set for another century but it wasn't to be.

The RR fast bowlers started well, with Archer leading the pack. It is a red-soil surface, remember, but the slower ones were quite effective. Gill said at the toss that they expect dew in the second half, will that hamper GT's defence?
