Because bad Bengali shows have plenty of scope for drama smiley37 which is exactly what Sitara Minus wants. Who cares if the original show is good or not, remake mein aapna tadka daalenge and ban gaya ek aur toxic show. smiley39

Yes, I know there's a trend of remaking Bengali shows. But I don't understand what's so special about them. smiley36 Now after reading your post, I think you're right. May be these Bengali shows have a lot of scope for drama and Star Plus selects them because of that.

Yup. If you notice Marathi or other regional shows aren’t remade — because there should be some scope for drama. Imagine if the male lead is a good guy, gruff / serious but good, the drama scope, scope for misunderstandings between husband and wife is greatly reduced, but if he feels none to kindly towards women from the beginning, it makes the job easier for the writers smiley36 they don’t have to think much.

Not at all Bengali shows are toxic — only the ones produced/written by Leela are unbearable. Even then the Bengali version is better when compared to the remake — the best example for this would be Ghum smiley36

Kusum Dola’s Ranojoy was no where as toxic as our own Vaada boy & eventually even Roopkatha becomes sane enough but Pakhi didi was delusional till the end smiley37

Male vamp hai so yes I’m looking forward to how he’ll manipulate people — he doesn’t have sympathy or being a wife who’s husband is missing right after marriage or the big fat tears at his disposal smiley36

Neil has been a quite common name. Jamaai ke male lead ka poora naam vaise Neilkanth Gangadhar Paranjpe hai but as of now, he's the best ML presently on ITV. Kaafi smart par ekdum chill. Galti se female lead se uski shaadi ho gayi despite female lead being super rich business woman and him belonging to lower middle class. Ab uski Saasu Mom usko Roz kabhi kidnap karwaati hain ya harm karne ka try karti hain, still that guy comes out unscathed due to his cleverness. Saasu Mom tried to get him sacked from job, plan backfired and Board of directors made him CEO. Abhi Saasumom conspired to get him arrested so police se bachne ke liye he locked himself in Saasu Mom's room.

Are Marathi shows and other regional show different from Bengali shows? I've no idea.

Yes! I like him! He's way more handsome than Neil. And he'll add spice to the show. smiley41 I like strong villains. So, I'm looking forward to his actions.
