GT was good today β€οΈ Good that you chose Gill..
Test

4 5 6 words words words words.
Another one-sided contest, and from a GT POV, another almost spotless display. Gill was front and centre of the run-chase, alongside Washington, who was promoted to number four. Both of them found the fence with ease and made batting look ridiculously simple on a surface that troubled almost everyone else. Washington could not stick around till the end, but his skipper did, and the Titans will look back at this performance with a beaming smile.
Washington Sundar: Skipper kept telling me to play as deep as possible. Got off to a good start and wanted to bat as deep as possible and finish for the team. This has been the trend in Hyderabad in the last few years. In the second innings, the wicket gets better and easier to chase 160-170 on the board. I was well aware of it and it helped me. (On his batting position) Coach asked me to go in at four after we lost a couple of wickets (early). Great opportunity for me and went well (for me).
Pat Cummins, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain: Not a traditional Hyderabad wicket, tough to get fluency in your innings. At the end there, it did not spin as much as we thought. A few (runs) short and they batted well. (On Simarjeet being their Impact Player) It was between him and (Rahul) Chahar. During their bowling innings, it felt like pace-bowling was tough to get away, so went with Simarjeet.
It has been a perfectly controlled run-chase from GT after they lost two early wickets within the powerplay. SRH would have thought that 152 was a competitive total at the halfway stage but it has ended up being well below par. Perhaps, the pitch also seemingly played much better in the second innings but credit has to be given to GIll & Co. for a great show with the bat. None of the SRH batters went onto score something substantial. Cummins played a quickfire cameo at the fag end to keep his side in with a chance. Siraj stole the limelight with a 4-fer for the visitors. A rare failure for Sudharsan and a duck from Buttler heightened the home side's hopes but after that, Gill and Sundar got together and mixed caution with aggression to perfection. The southpaw was especially aggressive and took the bowlers on to transfer pressure back on the hosts. Gill played the perfect foil to him as he kept the scoreboard ticking. Sundar fell on 49 courtesy a debatable call from the third umpire as he was caught near the boundary by Aniket. But, Gill kept going strong and raised a fifty. Rutherford came in as the Impact player and hit some lusty blows at the end. GT got over the line with 20 balls to spare...
