What Kjo/SRK and the rest of the gang have done to the Box office is shameful but the rest of what he said isn't really true. This is the golden age of small content based films, Indy or otherwise. Thanks to OTT there's tons of work for newcomers or out of date actors/directors.

They might not be Theatrical releases but the amount of content, whether films or original series is humongous with tons of new actors/directors/technicians getting a shot to prove their worth.

KJO/Kapoor/Khans have eliminated the industry. They are all now going to streamers and trying to sell their crap there... and those streamers are eating that crap with both of their hands.

The real question is not about gatekeeping but whether audiences are willing to engage with diverse narratives beyond star-driven spectacles.
