Actually na Arshi ki character aisi likhi hain ki uske bare main hum kuch dang ka duscuss karein aur na hi CS ki acting main woh baat hain ki uske kisi bhi nuance ki hum tareef karein..
At one point in this serial, there was a scene where they show Arshi asking Ani pointedly why was he angry during the Avinash meet-up and then proceeds to say I don’t care about your answer…. Meaning thereby that her only instinct is about not losing to Jhanak… That scene was kinda pivotal in how the dynamic between Ani and Arshi was shown.. An Ani agitated ( without deeply reflective why) about J going ahead with marriage, an Arshi who has cottoned on to Ani’s feelings about J but acting nonchalant about it as she isn’t keen to dissect the relationship and just happy to live with the camouflage of a hollow relationship with Ani as long as J is not in it….It was a well written scene but the problem is Leena never let things proceed in normal course in a linear plot line…for episode count she made it look at as if Arshi is there cos Ani wants it at times ( which was believable only until Ani hasn’t accepted his love for J) and most times she was threatening to leave and being told to stay by her mother or vice versa… it suited Leena to leave that angle in a limbo with token resistance from different characters but the end result being Arshi stays put!! But why? Atshi wasn’t ever in betrayal… She always knew what Ani was up to.. so much so that she knew even knew when Ani was unsure…and she was actively involved in plans to thwart the possibility of J becoming part of his life. So this angle of Arshi ke saath chhal hua hain etc hasn’t ever been bought by viewers…What riles viewers is her general bad behaviour… Leena thinks she is showing some great characterisation of a woman who just behaves this way when “wronged” by her partner but for viewers we have seen Arshi implicitly and complicit in all the wrong doings. Viewers are angry at the bad behaviour not any great acting… and the story not moving forward…
If the writer has situated a manipulative PL… it follows the audience is looking to see what next? If the writer proceeds to play the waiting game after a manipulative act has happened it just gets irritating…A character so manipulative that she suddenly becomes dumb to try to keep J with her ( even if it is to humiliate her) kya bakwas hain
To add now to the offscreen shenanigans of the PL to act as if she was wronged in the story. Now forget Arshi whom I have never paid any attention to cos she wasn’t worth it but can’t relate to why J or Ani must mollycoddle her? Ani ka majboori bhi samajh aata hain to an extent but what is J’s majboori when she can supppsedly spite fire…when occasion so demands! 🤦🏻♀️
