I have no idea how scripts go to actors do they get episodically with all scenes of all char or is it there part or show in general . If latter then how will one know how much screen time will he/she has and if PH choose to chop off or drag scenes an actor might not have much say.
BA is much better char than Zaid but Mein is much better show than SMD.so Wahaj should be very careful in choosing his next shows as I have not come across any A lister next shows after stardom being this bad . Show not doing well is diff thing but in his case it’s like he is a cameo (SMD) and by-stander ( Mein) which makes no sense .
SMD is like fighter movie , Good looking leads , superb supporting cast ,big budget and what not but end product is absolute dud and both directors suffer social media diarrhea who just refuse to shut up and accept it’s failure .
Name one single A lister male actor where the drama was sold with them as the male lead but they ended up being a 3rd lead to lesser stars? Even Muneeb Butt, Imran Abbas, Imran Ashraf, or FQ have NOT been given cameos like this in their Geo dramas? Especially what kind of comeback project is this for any star? Feroze got a ML centric KAM3 for his comeback to Geo but Wahaj gets second fiddle to Maya and Usama? When A listers even in ptv do cameos or are in an ensemble, it is made clear from the start or it is done for an experimental genre. Like JBHSSL Faraar Barzakh. Even Salmans role in KKHH was billed as a special appearance.
How can this be an old script that was rejected by both Talha and Obi yet Wahaj never got the full script? Plus there were all those rumors of multiple FLs turning this script down. Woh log kya padh kar reject kar rahe the?
If he didn't read the script, when he was narrated the story or read the outline, was it not obvious that his character was not explored or that this is a FL centric story where the other male lead has more to do in terms of driving the plot. Even the 3 minutes explanation by KRQ told me this. Its not like he was offered a performance driven or cktr driven cameo. In 22Q, it was not his story but at least Junaid was a fully realized cktr with an arc, transitions, independent tracks, explorstion of his trauma, his own goals and his own journey. BA got none of this.
Someone on X called this a Monish Behl cktr in a Barjatya film. And they were right. In HSSH, Monish was disabled and and adopted. Does that mean his insecurities or traumas were explored? What's the point of being a green flag or be a cktr with traumas if nothing of that gets explored and you are basically getting the Monish Behl treatment.
I dont buy any Wahaj scenes were cut. Usama in an iv said they did not change a single word in script but Haseeb added visual montages. Wahaj in fact had many many filler scenes that were not in script and placed there to pad up his ss. The number of shots/scenes where he is brooding or sulking by the poolside, in the garden, in bed, lying on various sofas, sitting on tables, leaning against walls windows fireplaces, while fondling lamps glasses and other objects, playing the piano, walking down stairs and hallways, wearing various nightgowns. The same 2 3 expressions while the ost plays inserted all over the series. Without these scenes, his ss would have been even less.
Also Fighter was at least sold as HR in the lead and we got that. At least u weren't sold an HR action film about planes, only to get a divorce drama with Deepika and KSG as the central leads and HR in a cameo. Imagine if Devdas was sold as an SRK film about heartbreak and self destruction, and what you got instead was only Paro and Thakur sb marital problems, his affair, their divorce and their evil friend, but did NOT get more than 20 mins of Dev's alienation and despair, his descent into alcoholism. Junta ne cinemas ke chairs tod deni thi if this is what they were served.
