BB is not only about followers but also of regular fans from all over India who vote for you but are not your followers. In BB 17 Ankita Lokhande had 4 million followers when she entered the show. Abhishek the eventual runner up had a few hundred thousand and so di ld Mannara Chopra who no one knew. Even though channel favoured Ankita, both Abhishek and Mannara finished ahead of her. Ankita lost popularity with her behavior where audiance really connected with Abhishek and he became the runners up after Munawar. Social media following does not indicate how popular a contestant can become in Bigg Boss.
