He has no control on whatever he says in IV..but overall in SMD I didn't find any regressive things being shown in a good light..that's really surprising smiley36On the top of it,the FL is not so bechari...and she says all those dialogues in the promo that wasn’t expected from KRQ lolsmiley36

SMD deals with subtle misogyny rather than flagrantly exhibition of it. People are criticizing Sadaf because she didn’t choose BA na ? isn’t a woman allowed to choose her partner regardless of the numerous favors he has done - nope but she’s criticized by everyone. She is shown as independent but people are critical about those aspects only. She’s being encouraged to go back to an abuser husband but her step mom. The crux of the show is KRQ has shown everyone to be misogynistic except BA - he’s the mankind angel - and if Sadaf is rejecting him what kind of cruel lady would she be ?
Very few are able to comprehend the apparent lack of agency Sadaf had ; she took the decision she did because she didn’t have a choice in spite of people thinking she had one.

To be fair, I don’t think we’re supposed to empathize with him but I think we could have enjoyed his performance more if things were executed differently

Yup! Execution sucks and some more screen time for the leads would have been better! We could have also enjoyed if Usama had put in a little effort. People criticize Maya and Wahaj, but I don’t think Usama has been that great tbh. But I guess it’s a matter of perspective.

@bold the thing which you are saying is also about perspective..BA is like a mankind angel but Sadaf rejected him at least made sense to me in terms of characters perspective..I knew since beginning and I think I 've discussed it here that Sadaf was really impulsive and a poor judge of a character..she has to make wrong decisions so that she realizes what is needed for a relationship to prosper...I just wish her character development was a bit better...it would have made more sense as to why she chose ammar

I watched the latest episode and found nothing wrong with the mother’s advice. All south East Asian family works in the same manner. Girls are always advised to sacrifice and compromise to save their marriage.

In fact if they wouldn’t have promoted this as a Wahaj show and wouldn’t have dragged it unnecessarily it is not a bad watch.

Does it occur to anyone of you that when Dania and Ammar talks they sound more perpetrators than a couple in love? Even if it is adultery and cheating they don’t have a bone of romance or love. They always sound like some murderer plotting a murder plan of Sadaf.

they are supposed to be like this only. ammar is not in love with dania, he is only using her to take revenge on sadaf and dania knows it very well.

ammar wants to take revenge because of sadaf's supposed feelings for bilal.

and dania wants to take revenge because sadaf married the guy she loved even after telling her she would never marry him.

dania was fine till sadaf married ammar. she took divorce only after knowing sadaf and ammar are married. it was only her revenge that brought her back from canada.

the show is not bad at all but you will like it only if you are not wahaj's fan.

i personally like it a lot.

@bold: in reality no mother would advise her daughter to take divorce esp when she knows about sadaf-ammar-dania fiasco from the very start.

if ammar becomes a changed person in the end, her mother will turn out to be the right one. if ammar remains the same, her mother will be proven wrong.

in addition, her mother also thinks that sadaf wants divorce bcoz she has bilal as an option 😆
