In criminal cases, it is State vs Accused so police will investigate and present the case, file the chargesheet etc

I was drawing a comparison with the previous case where a police complaint was filed against Ruhi too ..so that was also a criminal case where there should have been a PP/ Government pleader ..they were wrong in showing Abhira fighting the case back then ..bringing the PP in is obviously right .

Abhira can only assist a public prosecutor in criminal cases

It didn't happen because Manish's wife was saying that baat divorce tak pahuch gayi and Abhira has to save her relationship means divorce is not final yet
