As for genuineness, I think the point being missed by many VD fans is that if he is being genuine when he doesn’t stand up for himself or listen to wife’s advice that’s for his own benefit, then the (non-biased to VD) audience will find him nalayak and not worthy to be a winner.

Even MC Stan stuck up for himself.

Afreen was like I can do a mind reading on you and tried to trigger KV by saying certain things abt his character . Den KV said ab mujhe b ek chance milna chahiye and dts whn he did dt . Didnt say it but kinda suggested ke yeh bhi ek possibility hai.

So Afreen who had come to trigger KV got triggeres instead and whn KV left he told Shilpa agar yeh bahar bolta toh main isse chodta nai or something. Forgive my patchy memory.

Ye context hi hai. Peeth peeche baat wala nahin hai. Those personal life comments were peeth peeche na I was talking about that and yesterday chahat was also talking about KV to rajat peeth peeche that's what I was talking about
