Yes but it got that backlash because they had built up this character of Murtasim to the point that so many women wanted him as a husband. He was so respectful of Meerab’s consent and to have him do that was just killing his character. There’s no coming back from that. More than backlash, people didn’t want them to ruin Murtasim. It’s crazy to think the amount of tweets that got! Tere Bin craze was on some other level.

Sorry to say,but Murtasim was a Kabir Singh on paper presented to us by Siraj Ul Haq and Wahaj in a very attractive way to the fans..full credit goes to actor and director here..but Murtasim was always a regressive..and whole of Meerab and Murtasim dynamics was a male-female power play..Murtasim considered Meerab as a part of his "izzat" more than loving her as a complete being...Just because he was caring and protective,that doesn't mean his animal instincts were gone..That's why I wasn't much shocked when the marital rape thing came ..because it was already established that Murtasim was a kind of hero who would do any kind of abuse in response to FL's badtameezi..

That's what I am saying PTV writers can’t write trashy romance..without making any of the lead regressive...Indian writers are better when it comes to write such kind of entertaining romance

people gave billions if views to shows like kam3 which barely had leads ke scenes or an romance.. lovey dovey romance is not always what matters. mann mayal was a hit tho for 15 episodes we had no mannu-sallu scenes. shows without lovey dovey scenes in the beginning still need to get ppl invested in the cktrs and them being together. failing to do that is a failure of story telling.

I am getting what you are saying hypno..and we all criticise SMD team for the dragging and direction.

But mann mayal,kam3 already had an established romance after the initial episodes...whereas SMD didn't have any romance between the leads till now..

In terms of entertainment value,Iqtidar is better I agree..but its a total crap in terms of story..

We all criticise SMD when required...but audienceshould also understand that...if the demand of the story is that leads story will start towards the end,than no one can do anything about it...at least me as an audience couldn't have accepted the same sadaf which we saw in epi 16,17,18 as Bilal's life partner...who looked bipolar and moody back than.

I am yet to watch last week’s episode. This 3 minutes of Wahaj makes by BP high. On top of that Usama giving statements like only 50% of his nautunki is over.

Only saving grace is this forum

I watch Bilal scenes twice rather than entire drama. 😅 to get satusfied. It’s the only scenes which gives some emotional one sided feels to next level, everything else is so crazy and stretched.

this is because the show was not written to be a love story or romance. maybe next time makers should think twice before falsely marketing something like this as a grand romance love redefined passionate chemistry etc etc. if you sell something as action,people expect action. sell it as thriller or suspense. people expect thrill and suspense.

p.s. i am just bitter at being sold a maya-led ensemble as a wahaj drama that will tell the story of his cktr.

Exactly, the leads’ story isn’t supposed to start until later. I also recognize that most people may not be that patient but I am. I also think they have stretched it and we would have been there quicker without the dragging of pointless scenes.

All these are just buildup for bilal sadaf track to start but this could have been wrapped long time back...the scenes are so much stretched out and unnecessary...and also the way they made actors act in some episodes...its so absurd...I get the criticism there...but people acting like its the most regressive story ever is actually weird.

the last one third of a three part narrative structure is to resolve issues, tie loose ends. Any show where build up is 30 episodes and main action & resolution is 5 episodes is called terrible storytelling.

ofc if you look at it as sadaf's story then the bilsad track in last 5 episodes will make more sense. because their reunion is end of sadaf's story after her narrative arc is complete.

yes rather than iqtidar I can watch Tere bin instead on repeat skipping just meerab murtasim separation track . Their chemistry and couple scenes are next level. Also the expression of actors in all the fiery scenes are on next level which can be watched several times and all other drama is also mediocre. AFAIU it’s being watched and liked in Pakistan itself more. India I didn’t heard much.
