atp it is not only haters hating on smd. majority of neutral viewers, critics, general audiences, even fans, are brutally criticizing smd. if it were only regressive themes, bad dialogues, illogical tcharacters, yeh drama tab bhi itna criticize nahi hota if acting, execution, direction, pace was good and it was providing good masala entertainment. for a high profile drama to be this bad is shocking on anther level. smd nai sab ki izaat di kodi ki kar di hay. but instead of defending this pile of garbage, being passive aggressive, flaunting views or shading trps, the team should really reevaluate, learn from it, act with grace, and make sure to do better next. and also to fans, esp. those in touch with anyone in the team. stop cocooning them and making them think this drek is some oscar level product. please provide honest feedback. i just feel bad that this project has done most damage to wahaj. i don't think he will ever get that hype or stardom back but he still has time to win back that izzat and reestablish his credibility as a fine actor, and should focus on that. chemistry, dostiyan, yaariyan, heropanti all should take a backseat. just be sincere to the craft, the character and story-telling. and fgs, don't let marketing falsely advertise something on your name.

kdh also spoke about some other interesting things like:

importance of having a script reading with all actors, writer and director present before going to shoots. That can be used to discuss character arcs, motivations, understand character dynamics, flow. etc. in a way that everyone is on the same page.

One of them said that sometimes producers may not want to have this reading because they would promise actor A tumhara bada role hai, promise actor B ke tumhara zyada role hai. Phir jab drama shoot hota hai ya baad main toh pata chalta hai kiska kitna role tha. sometimes actors are not given whole scripts but only their parts, or given the script on set, so actors do not know kiska part kya hai or kitna zyada. Marina also talked about importance for actors to ask for and read the whole script before accepting anything. sirf naam sunke or ph ki pitch sunke sign mat karein.

I think the leads met on MSM right. Sounds like they already have some interaction. I saw a lot of criticism for the actress and surprisingly for Ahad too. A lot of complaints about their chemistry too. I have no idea how valid it is because I’m not watching the show and don’t want to judge it by just watching a couple of clips. It could just be a bunch of haters. But even if it’s true I think giving people what they expect…interaction between the leads trumps performance. It keeps things engaging. The most interaction we saw in the last episode of SMD was between Ammar and Dania and no one is invested in that. People only cared because it was an indication of Sadaf’s crumbling marriage. She knows about it now, just telling us that he’s going over is sufficient, we don’t need to see every detail. That’s why it feels it’s even more about Ammar than Sadaf at this point. If they just gave us Wahaj and Maya…even if they acted terribly, people would have been entertained even if reviewers criticized them. They definitely need to give us more Wahaj. He is literally the only reason people are watching and when you cut him out, you lose your viewers

forget the leads, chemistry, etc. at the very least, the pace is decent, some bits here and there are entertaining, it is overall light hearted, and you can watch at 1X without wanting to tear your heart out.

smd main nora fatehi ka item dance or bilsad ki suhag raat bhi dikha do but if this pace and direction continues toh ratings dhakkan nahi ayengi. last week there was a 1m44s in which all we saw was ammar enter the door, take shoes off, climb stairs, enter bedroom and sit on bed. then there was a scene where all we saw was ammmar's morning routine before he comes down to kitchen. then there was 3m30sec scene where wahaj was sleeping, woke up, munh or aankhein malne laga and walked in corridor. With this type of direction by haseeb, nora fatehi ka dance or suhaag raat ka scene bhi haseeb ne dekhne ke qabil nahi chorna.
