I think the discussion was about Saman Shah losing her important vote bank because of Zain. And it is Shahnawaz who thinks that by marrying Mehru...he'll be able to secure a pardon from her family and it will save their image AND he will get the woman he loves. One arrow - three targets. Lets see if his manifestation works in the next episode also.

Also given the way the writer conveniently made Mehru forget that shahnawaz has a fiance, I'm scared whether post wedding, it will be revealed that it is actually an act. They do this even in ITV so stretch the story. I don't want that here. And I don't want Mehrunissa to give in to her feelings and agree to marry him just because he confessed/she is attracted/he is a 'nice guy'...their families are against each other in court...this should be more than legit reason to say no!

@BOLD I also think the conversation with his mom kind of sealed the urgency of it, they have to get Zain's case dismissed before the elections and Shahnawaz also doesnt want to lose her. By marrying her before the case gets dismissed, he ensures that he gets Mehru before he makes any move of getting Zain out cos post that Mehru wont let Shah near her.

What if she leaves him after that? Or did he think once he will get her, she'll not be able to leave?

Have u seen how overconfident he is? Anyway the OST lines kind of indicate what is going to happen, Kyu jalate he tum dushman mera? We are getting ANGST big time.
