i think the word gaslight gets thrown around too loosely on this forum. he considers chum a close friend and he has given her enough importance for her to be able to say these things to him. a friend explaining something to you or sharing their perspective with you on how they perceived your actions in a certain situation isn't necessarily gaslighting imo. if kv doesn't want to hear something, he can just tell her you are no one to tell me these things. usne khud yeh space dia hai chum ko k wo sab baatein un ko bol sakti hai because kv usko itni importance deta hai. to me, kv is wrong in this situation. if he had been honest and said i'm not supporting shilpa and that's the end of it, and then she tried to guilt trip and pressurize him, then i'd say it's wrong. but it was kv yesterday who changed his mind and did his jaap about friendship and how he can't do that to shilpa and blah blah. yeh sab is ne chum k samne bola tha and shilpa tak se apologize kia tha for having these thoughts because he considered them so wrong. yeh sab sochne tak ki maafi mangli thi shilpa se when she wasn't even involved in his thought process. so if chum is bringing up the friendship point (sure, they are not his true friends but putting that point aside), yeh point bhi kv ne khud hi chum ko dia because he was the one who was saying i have to support my friend, i can't be a hypocrite, blah blah. phir agley din iska memory loss hua and is ne kuch kia hi nahi task mein because it was all too childish for him. tab hi bata deta k i'm not playing for anyone. tab koi support nahi dia and then he had the audacity to take shilpa's name when bb asked who he wanted as time god. plus he can't even stick to a specific reason. kabhi he says shilpa didn't support him is liye nahi play karna, kabhi vivian ki taraf bias ki waja se nahi support karna, kabhi vivian ko compliment kar k irritate kia to nahi support karna, kabhi avinash k liye nafrat hai to is liye nahi support karna, kabhi task bohat childish hai to nahi support karna. he doesn't have the guts to stand with any statement. isko confused and stupid rehna hai bas.
just to clarify, i don't think he needed to support shilpa at all and i already clarified the point about chum's hypocrisy so won't repeat those from my last posts
yday in DDT i said , the primary reason he could not support shilpa was it would have looked so odd to fill the same basket which avinash and gang were also doing.. today he said ditto.. so am glad he expressed that awkard moment to chum.. chum may not be gaslighting but what is the use of guilt tripping and then saying oh dont feel bad ..u did what u felt ..then back to saying how wrong he was … this cycle went like 2-3 times .. more than shilpa what affected him was chum got disappointed in him and even hinted she will not stick to this grp only.. i know she wanted to give honest opinion but thoda over ho gaya tha .. wish she had asked atleast once the same question to shilpa .. may be she wasn’t expecting anything from shilpa coz she was always on two boats..
