The whole spiel was to give a lessen to the audience that laaton ke bhoot baton se nahi maante by showing how poor girls have to suffer in such homes, completely ignoring that PH is not much different than the environment Abhira was describing.

Honestly the entire episode was a lollipop for the audience by showing them an apparently "strong" Abhira, jo agle ke kuch episodes main absolutely abla hone wali hai who will be governed by the likes of Vidya maa & Ruhi didi to take important decisions of her life, including whether she should live or die.
