Umm... it's "The Sign of four" and it's one of the four short novels written by Sir Arthur Conon Doyle. 
Edited: oops, I thought you were referring to the OG Sherlock, later realized it was the sasta Sherlock, it did have "The Sign of Three"

Yep but the TV show adaptation changed the title into "The sign of the three" and the plot of the episode and the book are different
