They have gone mad. Being a Gen 4 viewer and a first time Rishta audience I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that a certain section of the FD of earlier gen hasn't moved on yet. Who has so much free time 🙄

It might be weird to you but that doesn’t mean it is weird across the enitre world. This is a fictional show whose USP is joint family and relationships and it thrives on all kinds of relationships. Both Abhira’s parents’ families constitute her maayka and had she known them and they were shown in the show, this would have been the case. Even in Gen 1 and Gen 2, this was how it was portrayed.

Par dada par dadi abhinav ke parents , grand parents hote agar hote toh. Singhania’s /maheshwari’s can’t called as par dada par dadi . Par dada par dadi father ki family wale hote hai.

Par nana par nani maa ki maternal surname wale hue. Here mother’s maternal surname was Goenka so par nana par nani ka rishta Goenkas hue.

Singhania and Maheshwari toh dur ke rishtedar hue like apni nanii ke may ke wale and nani ki nani ke maykewale.

Mere liye nahi , mostly married ladki ke liye yeh bolna weird he hoga ki meri nani ke maaykewale is mera maayka or meri nani ke maayka wala is my par dadi par dada Kuch bhi matlab

Akshara and Naitik are not just her Nani s mayakewale.

Abhira is related to them by blood. They are her family just as Manish Goenka is.
